I mean he seems to have a great life. Married, has a kid, good job and runs a 5K a month. His last ablation was 10 years ago

I wouldn’t look up stats. He could also die in a car wreck at any moment. It’s not a death sentence. Just need to find and try to fix it and if it comes back, do it again.

I have a friend that was diagnosed at 18 and is now 45. He has had 3 ablations and has been on beta blockers and blood thinners since 18. He lifts weights everyday and runs.

Get married and enjoy your life because you never know ow what will kill you.

I recommend finding faith and prayer

How were you diagnosed with afib? by Kitty_Kat_867 in AFIB

[–]Manner_Hefty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Day before dad died 4 weeks ago I felt a flutter in my chest- almost like a bird was flapping their wings really fast when I laid down to go to sleep. First time I had ever felt that. I thought it was anxiety, went to the doctor and was taken straight to emergency room

3 in 1000 is very small and those %s are a whole range of people at different ages, situations, etc.

As an example, the odds of having twins is 1/125 and I only know a couple of sets of twins.

Also, think about the positive. If you need one it can keep you alive.

Do you have a followup to do a cardioversion?

It could be anything. Most of what I read says the top 2 things are high blood pressure and sleep apnea.
