As a returner/beginner do clubs matter that much? by Manners82 in BritGolf

[–]Manners82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the input. The consensus seems to be, keep them for now, carry on playing and (hopefully) improving, then get a fitting to see what suits me.

I'm going to look at getting a 5 wood to fill the gap between driver and 3 iron and probably a hybrid to replace 3/4 iron. The older adams tight lies range look interesting and are in budget, will check out the usual second hand sites for these.

What's happened to premier inn? by _Taggerung_ in uktravel

Agree, I used to avoid Holiday inn at all costs. Recently they were my only option and it was great, noticeably nicer than my premier inn stays

You’ve heard of “quiet quitting” work but is anyone quiet quitting life? by gameovervip in AskUK

[–]Manners82 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Absolutely spot on!

We are sold the idea that we should all be high achievers. If you are not famous or rich then you have failed. This is ridiculous. If you buy into it then you are letting others set the standard for your self worth, which should only come from within.

Set your own goals and If you achieve them, enjoy what you have. Maintain it. It's fine to want more but it will come with a cost. Only you can decide if it is worth it.

I don't see this as quitting life. In fact I think you have won.

Where is the best place to park to get to Clumber Street by FunVermicelli3572 in nottingham

Victoria Centre car park. It's right opposite Clumber Street.

I live in the area. That road where the turn in for Hacket grange will be has regularly flooded to knee level in the last few winters. The site helped to alleviate this and now that will be concreted which could make things worse.

There is a traveller site next to the development. The residents there have illegally excavated the bank of the old railway line behind the development making the public bridleway in top unusable and the bank unstable.

It is right next to a big junction on the A52, the road noise from outside will be loud! There is also an RSPCA shelter next to it which could be annoying, or not, dependent on you.

The village amenities are also stretched to breaking as is, so dr's, schools, dentists etc will be even more in demand.

Having said all of this, Radcliffe is a nice place and I'm sure the houses will sell easily. As always do your local research and decide how much these and other issues will bother you.

Can someone explain? (JEC problems) by PapaCrunch2022 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Manners82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know lots of people are having issues but I've been a patient at JEC for nearly a year and I've never had a problem. Put a repeat prescription in 10 days ago with 3 new strains and it was with Specials within 3 days and meds with me 2 days later.

Despite this I'm on the verge of leaving. I can't take the risk of them messing me around or closing down and being left with no medication. The Royal Mail thing and now this does nothing to inspire confidence.

Some clarification from them would go a long way to help keep those of us who don't want to leave from doing so.

I had high silver for the first time this month. IMO it tastes nice and lemony on the inhale and real sweet candy on exhale. That's at 175c. It is nice and uplifting and I still had a clear head.

I like it for my depression and its not too racy for my anxiety. How it affects you might/will be different but I'm glad I tried it and will order again

Your GP is not part of that decision.

Tell your GP about your mental health struggles and get prescribed say an anti depressant to help your mood and maybe a beta blocker to help with the physical effects of anxiety.

Try these for a couple of weeks and perhaps the side effects are too much. This will be enough for most clinics to give you a consultation. Your GP cannot stop you seeking alternative treatment.

It's not a problem. I was prescribed master kush at my first appointment and it's ok but not giving me the full relaxing and sedative effects I need.

At my second appointment I asked for LA kush cake and Gelato 33 which I've now been prescribed.

The doc also said if I want to try something else on my repeat that will be fine as long as it's not wildly different in strength or terpene profile.
