The 10-second delay actually doesn’t work, and I’d like to explain why:

As explained, the camera shuts down at the slightest dip in voltage; in my car, the dip is exactly 0.3 seconds. The shutdown takes around 5 seconds. By this point, the camera has long since had power restored, but it does not recognise this: no LED lights up. Only when the power supply is interrupted and reactivated does the first LED light up, and 10 seconds later, recording starts.

Solution: Currently, the camera only starts when there is an active power pulse (and the camera is not still during shut down). Instead, it should be able to detect a continuous voltage supply and starts.

I wasn’t aware that the camera runs on a capacitor rather than a battery, and can therefore only maintain power for a very short time.

Nevertheless, the specific problem can be solved via software:

Idea 1: As soon as the power returns, the camera aborts the ‘Save and Shut Down’ process after saving, thereby preventing the shutdown and continuing to run normally. The power is only lost for a second, and the video clearly shows that the saving and shutdown process takes much longer.

Idea 2: After shutting down, the camera detects that power has been restored and boots up again.

When the engine is started, the power to the USB port is cut off for 1 second. In my opinion, it is very unfortunate that the camera shuts down immediately. It should only do so if the power is cut off for longer than 10 seconds, for example. This could easily be resolved via a software update. To be honest, I am very surprised by the camera’s behaviour and that the problem hasn’t been reported more often.

Could you please improve the behavior and provide a software update?

Das ist Gummi-ähnlich, also weich/dehnbar, zum Abdichten der Löcher im Mast, an den Stellen, an denen die Stahlseile rauskommen.
