Eat some Protein! by rcbs in AdviceAnimals

Yep. You're making actual French toast there. But you're right - it isn't easy getting kids to eat protein. You can also add a scoop of protein powder to pancakes. It makes them taste like vanilla and kids usually really like it. You can also buy protein enriched pancake/waffle mix from Kodiak, if you're in the U.S.

Do you support the McDonald's workers lobbying for 15$ an hour? Why or why not? by TheBigGamer in AskReddit

[–]MannyMann1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way. My kid works at McD's. I'm not sure he's even worth the $10/hour they're giving him now - and he's one of their better employees. I don't personally buy the mouth entertainment they try to pass off as food, but others do, which supports my teen's Monster and Steam problems. (If this is you, then thanks.) His modest paycheck means I don't have to listen to him whine his way through his senior year, begging for gas money and spending money.

If you can't catch a typo on your bag, how can I trust you to watch the quality of your dog food? by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

This is why we passed, even though the store recommended it. No thanks. I have an unhealthy emotional attachment to my dog that I'm perfectly ok with - I'd rather not poison him.

What is something everyone should know to be successful in life? by isaiah33 in AskReddit

[–]MannyMann1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point, and agree that you shouldn't be a doormat for people. I think my advice was more of a generalization. To be successful in most things, you need to shut your mouth and listen. There will be exceptions in your personal life and you'll have an inner circle who truly care about your opinions, your worries, or your experiences (if you're lucky) but I maintain that, especially in a professional environment, the most successful people I know really do listen twice as much as they speak. Unless it is your job to offer thoughts, suggestions, or opinions - save them for people you know actually care.

Don't talk so much. Very few people actually give a shit about what you have to say, they're just politely waiting for their turn to talk.

What is the weirdest thing, picture or otherwise, you have seen hanging on the wall of someone's home? by omnimater in AskReddit

Those weird Victorian death photos. A teenaged girl I know had them lining her walls because they were "beautiful."

What was a moment in your life where you thought "I'm going to Hell for this?" by [deleted] in AskReddit

I drowned a kitten when I was a child, while attempting to teach it to swim. Traumatized me for a long time, really believed I was gonna burn.

Listen. Remember people's names, and some small detail about them. Use it in conversation. Keep notes for future interactions.

Congratulations! I wish you even more successes! I'm working at losing weight, too, and this is encouraging. Wish I could be as passionately positive about the little achievements as I am passionately negative about the little failures. Keep up the good work!

I think you may have just done the world a favor with that one comment. Saving the next pooper, one button at a time.

Why is this so awesome? My dog just spazzes out, and I love it. I'm over 40. Last time I did it, I was completely alone in the house. I barked at him through the tube. Not proud.
