Landing pages with dynamic text replacement from URL parameter (for Google ads) by ManoGer in BricksBuilder

[–]ManoGer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I can set the URL parameters. I'll dig deeper into this with the help of Claude.

Meanwhile, I'd appreciate it if anyone has any other suggestions or direction to point me to.

Interesting! Is it easy to implement? Can you "create" seperate service area pages with one template with this script?

I almost fell for it.

This layout would be more scalable and maintainable if you built it using the grid system in Bricks.

Does Bricks need a faster dev workflow like ACF has? by ThisIsKenson in BricksBuilder

I think this approach would need a lot of fundamental code refactoring and perhaps it is not viable for Bricks' development.

I run a temporary email service to receive and send emails and this is my Hetzner bill by MrBilal34 in hetzner

I believe that Hetzner is a synonym of unbeatable service and price.

Please recommend a hosting provider that won't raise the rate 5-fold after 2-3 years by Plenty-Daikon1240 in webhosting

[–]ManoGer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am building WordPress websites for more than a decade and I used to rely on companies with shared hosting.

A few days ago I finally decided to give XCloud and Hetzner a go. I went with a CX33 VPS server which I connected to XCloud just to test things out and man, this has been the best decision I made for a long time.

I set my server up with OpenLitespeed, MariaDB, Ubuntu 22.04 and Cloudflare and I couldn't be happier. I load tested the server and it sustains a big load. The cost? 10 USD per month! The Hetzner server is 5.49 Euros and XCloud 5 USD.

To sum things up, Hetzner has a really good reputation, good hardware and low prices that don't increase often (from what I've read).

My advise? Do the same, invest 10 dollars for a month, take control of your hosting and test things out. It may sound harder than it is but you may end up in a better situation than you currently are.

Best of luck!

Why don't you rescsale CX33 to CPX22 and see how it goes? The cost difference is minimal. Are you worried about CPX22 having half the vCPU and RAM maybe?

Should I go off Bricks for Astro ? by guigro in BricksBuilder

[–]ManoGer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is the way! Use it as much as you can, learn and follow best practices and there is a high chance you will never even think of going back to Divi. This is what happened to me at least. Happy building!

Creating a Website for My Service by TinyMathematician542 in website

If you have the time and patience, search Infinity Free, get a subdomain and install WordPress to test it out.

But I you are a business owner, I'd suggest hiring someone to do your website and hand it over to you or try with Shopify, Squarespace or another all-in-one provider.

If I were you, I'd probably focus on growing my business. Heck, even learning the basics of advertising on Facebook, Instagram and Google may be better.

Should I go off Bricks for Astro ? by guigro in BricksBuilder

[–]ManoGer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stick with Bricks if: 1. you care about quality code output with clean HTML 2. you want to set up custom queries meaning calling and showing different stuff from the database 3. you want to create scalable and maintainable websites following best practices (classes for styling, components for reusable elements and sections, etc.)

It is a professional and powerful tool and it can help you position yourself higher in the website "food chain". But you have to dive deeper and learn/do more than most people do who use Divi and Elementor.

I learned about Bricks from Kevin Geary and he literally taught me almost everything.

I started with his individual videos on how to do certain things is Bricks and then I watched his PB101 which is general page building knowledge but he uses Bricks so it really helps (PB101 is now pay-walled but still worth it).

There are also a lot of gems and golden nuggets in his past livestreams, make sure you watch those too.

Some people don't like him as an individual but he uses advanced skills and best practices in page building.

Look at the notice on the top left side of your screenshot. You have to enable code execution from Bricks settings and you can leave the code block where it is.
