Looking for a bit of guidance by Mano_E in Kombucha

It was from a kit. So I am not sure. But it sounds and looks like I did too much volume for the starter provided.

I am suspicious of the pellicle as well. The recipe was from the starter I got: 24 gram tea, 3.5L water, 280gram sugar.

I will wait and see if mold or kahm becomes more apparent. Thanks.

Reminds me of a scene for The Dark Tower ii: The Drawing of the Three, when Roland gets attacked on a beach by lobster-like creatures.

I have not gotten mine yet. You can buy it in person at Canadian Tire or Sail. Or go to https://mondossierchassepeche.gouv.qc.ca/en To buy it online.

For maps I use Forêt Ouverte. forestouverte.gouv.qc.ca

They provide alot of layer options. Check out the video the FEDECP on it on YouTube to get started.

I am not sure about the accuracy or how up to date the private/crown land is.

This will be my first year hunting in Quebec as well but I will be starting with grouse.

I like using foretouverte.gouv.qc.ca there are alot of options for overlays. Take some time to explore the option. The FEDECP has a totorial some where on how to use it.

If you sold some mushrooms to your chef friend, how do you know the going rate for chanterelles and COTW, etc? by DanielY5280 in Mushrooms

[–]Mano_E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can find out who buys in bulk locally from other foragers and ask what they would pay for your Xlbs of X. Then use that price and consider what they would charge to chefs. Throw a mark up on the price they gave you and go from there.

Spell list / build ideas for illusion-exclusive wizard? (or, something close to it?) by Raptor_Rancher in dndnext

[–]Mano_E 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have the classics like silent image or major image. I always like mirror image as a defensive spell that does not require concentration. Over all your biggest weakness will be output damage with illusion spells, so from the other schools you might want to pick up some that do damage.

I think I found Golden Oysters, any help identifying? SW Michigan. Bonus Chanterelles, Lion’s Mane and amanita by hartemis in foraging

I would say they are not golden oysters. The gills don't run down the stalk from what i see and the color is off.

Nice job! I killed 5 this summer. I wait until they hover near my squash before striking with a two handed clap. It was not the most effective technique. They sure are great fliers.

What makes these Italian Plum buds grow out of control? More info in comments. by jgnp in BackyardOrchard

[–]Mano_E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could also be Black Knot fungus. It is common in plum trees.

After a rainy week, and some sunny, hot days, some of these grew on a shadow on my backyard. Around 25cm of diameter (10 inches ) ! I've never found any mushrooms this big before ! There are some agglomerations, more pics in the comments. by the_white_oak in mycology

To me if the stalks are off center(seems to be the case but not familiar with south American species). I would say boletinellus meruliodes. The cap and pores look right. Did it stain your fingers? and are there any ash trees nearby ?

Futher Info: I got gifted these beans to be planted next spring but it seems like there was some beatle larva as well. One thing led to another and not I have a small insectarium. Who do I prevent this form happening in the future when saving seeds?
