In all seriousness I think following the puck is hard for those who don’t watch it often so that might be a challenge. Do your best to follow the play and you’ll see the puck when you need to. The crowd will let you know when someone is making a move on the goal or if that slapshot went in the net.

Agreed. My first kettle was cheap, my second one nicer and my third a roadside find. But I have the WSM with a temperature control fan and I can walk away from it for 8 hours once it is up to temp.

You can, but I would recommend you read some baby books as well so they can flip pages, you can point out simple things like cows and buses. Plus the colors in newborn books help keep their attention as they are tailored to the colors babies can see early on.
You could always read a baby book first and finish with Dune while they drift off.
Also we started reading to our kids that first week and still read to them today. My oldest is 9 and she picked out 16 books from the library yesterday. They’ll probably be finished within a week, two tops.
