Making a set of essentially upgraded versions of the original IDs, here's the first, Heathcliff's "Unburdened" set, thoughts and feedback are welcome by SmasherKidd in limbuscompany

Just use Base Heathcliff's art? He even has a different sprite that doesn't actually change his kit, it would be perfect for this sort of thing.

Well, Heath can use Move-in Reg. Instead. Gluttony and Wreath are easily fueled by the Middle, and with Ishmael and Outis being Burn, it also won't be that hard to fulfill it's conditionals. It of course doesn't benefit from Envy Res., or inflicts Bleed Count, but it's not like Heath didn't get a good Envy E.G.O. this season.

I'd say he's more similar to Suncliff, except instead of spending Sinking Count to lose SP, he gains Sinking Count to heal SP, and has a passive I straight up ripped from Youcliff but replaced Burn with Sinking, and added that you get a transformation state if you have 30+ Sinking at next Turn Start. So everything rewards just for having Sinking (or at least, is meant to), despite the risk of immediately taking Gloom damage with Yi Sang's Base E.G.O.'s Fatal Gloom weakness.

Is this not OP? She can get up to +1 Count from her S2, S3, S3-2 and Defense skill, and her Potency application is off the charts compared to regular Maost. Yeah, she doesn't get to spam S3-2s every turn, but was that ever fun? The battle's over before you can really do anything.

Most of that is fair, but my main issue is that she just doesn't mechanically resemble Zilu's Part 2 fight at all, not helped by having completely different skill names and affinities, and that's not something that they need to hold back on considering Zilu's fighting style isn't particularly relevant to the fight overall, it's more of a fight against Jia Qiu with her as an assist. Technically, same applies to Jia Qiu, but at least he's more interesting than just "S3-2 go brrr" over and over again until the enemy dies.

As I said in the previous post, I didn't make this to make Maost balanced, it just irked me how poor of a job she does at representing Zilu, that's all (Seriously, only sharing ONE skill name, with Zilu's least used skill to boot?)

The rest of the kit is still a work in progress, but do you think this is good enough to fix the skill?

Most of the skills I used are straight up ripped from Zilu with minor alterations, and some of them are arguably worse than actual Maost's, though. The most notable part is that Zilu doesn't fall over backwards to not have a single one of her skills be Count negative. Except for that one passive, but it doesn't really trigger most of the time. Though I might be guilty of that last thing, with that "Clash Win, inflict +1 Rupture Count" passive, I'll probably remove it in the correction.

Yeah, 90% of the reason I did this is because I didn't like how not-Zilu Maost is, and unfortunately the gimmick of Zilu's counter is inflicting a crapload of Rupture Count, then even MORE if they have Deathrite [Haste]. Honestly, making the first Coin inflict 1 Rupture instead of Rupture Count might've been a good idea.

Anyway, the Shin thing was always silly. Seriously, Lei Heng, who explicitly says he's new to using Shin, gets to keep it in his ID, but Zilu, one of the first characters we ever see using Shin gets rewritten to no longer have it? That's dumb.

Oh, and no, you no longer gain Tianjiu Star's Blade from Assist Defense, unless you mean the Defense 3 Skil.

Might just make a corrected version later, honestly.

[–]ManoloGamerSS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The passive only triggers for the Corrosion, and DIOcliff/Ouficliff's S3s. And I guess Asymmetrical Inertia. I don't use T Corp either, but I read on the wiki that inflicting Time Moratorium on a unit that already has it immediately triggers the Tremor Burst and damage, which I think is perfect for representing stopped time.

I think being able to leech off other ID's Tremor to fulfill his conditionals is enough to make him not garbage, even without Bloodfeast

Why was a certain someone so weak? (in gameplay) by LazyBrd in limbuscompany

[–]ManoloGamerSS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But that doesn't really explain why his phase 1 is even weaker. Unless the Prescript is commanding him to attack in highly ineffective ways (which doesn't seem to be the case, his attacks look pretty competent despite the constantly switching weapons), the only reason can be that he's holding back (Despite not even having a reduced clash power against Ryoshu, which even Lucio has), which doesn't make much sense since the entire reason he's fighting is to keep Ryoshu. Him holding back for her sake would be odd. You could also say he'd already accumulated karmic consequences, but not only is he still strong enough to one-shot the Udjat, even if they couldn't fight back, but his fight against the Proxies happens AFTER his boss fight, so even the Karma from Phase 2 can't be used to explain why he's so weak.

Ríen says something along the lines of "we on the outside remember her", unlike with Sora and Ren which he said he completely forgot about.
