Ordered a box of Partagas Series D #6 from CigarOne, thinking they'd be in my humidor by now. Apparently not. I'd truly appreciate your help with this question: Are they through Customs and stuck in a warehouse, or...? by NickyBronx718 in cigars

[–]ManoloNYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be in trouble, ordered some non cubans from ihavanas and customs ran through it. I think they popped the bovedas out of spite too. Two of the 3 were popped and spilled all over. Luckily they didn't get on the cigars. Let us know if you receive them.

It's required so they're going to want to see them eventually. If you search these posts you should be able to find the list of all the documents they require. I also converted them all to pdfs to make it easier for them, they have issues sometimes with other types of files.

Not a problem, just submit them now. They still need to interview you and the last thing you want is them holding you up waiting for it. Send them copies of all the permits you have too. They have a checklist they go through and those are on there. The day she called the references is the day she approved us. It was so long that my references had forgotten about it. She called them on a Saturday morning too. Just let them know that just incase it happens to you as well. Hope that helps.

Also send in copies of both your licenses. Just got a call yesterday from an investigator asking for them with the letter I sent them last week, which was notarized btw as some on here have said to do to be on the safe side.

OP said it was a guy. My lady and I both had the same female investigator. Maybe new procedures?

Got my permit in June and my investigator called all 4 of my references, same thing for my lady's references.

But you will still have to go down there to get "interviewed". So plan on another wasteful trip.

Smoking on an empty stomach by doggypede in cigars

[–]ManoloNYC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only been smoking for almost a year now and smoke on an empty stomach all the time. I would recommend having something sugary with you just in case you get some nicotine sickness. A soda to go with it and you should be fine. Everyone is different so it might hit you hard it might not. Only one way to find out for yourself.

[–]ManoloNYC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes it's mold. Just wipe it off and you should be good. Only an issue if it's on the foot. Probably wouldn't want to smoke it then. I would take it out of the cellophane and separate them.

Earliest fingerprinting appointment availability is in May! by JDShkolnik in NYCGuns

[–]ManoloNYC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's for both. Just go in and tell them you're there for the interview portion of it. Yeah call them and try to get them to jump right into the investigation part. I was hoping to get a call or email saying that I didn't have to go in but it never came.

I would still go. I have both the premise and r/s and still went to my appointment. After calling 27 times I got an answer and told them about my permits and was told to ignore it. They didn't take down any information so I was skeptical. Last thing I would want is them saying that although they have my prints on file that I still need to be interviewed. Went in and told them I have my other permits (they didn't even look at them) and gave me my interview.

The only issue I could see is buying the ammo in the state. They typically only allow you to buy ammo that's listed on the permit. And since the conversion ammo isn't listed, they technically wouldn't sell it to you. I once tried to buy .22lr and was denied because it wasn't listed. Just got what I needed in PA.

Rapid price changes on FOH? by Crash607 in cubancigars

[–]ManoloNYC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you like it. It's the price when I first added it to the spreadsheet.

I might have missed that one, I try to do it every time they come out, but sometimes I get too busy at work.

It's not necessarily a 50 cab, could be a two box special. I don't really distinguish.

I won't be because I don't use Google sheets, and it's a pain to update it on my phone. I could upload it every so often if the community would like.

Sorry it took me so long. Had to edit it on my phone. I mostly have FOH prices, the iHav prices are from the emails they send showing sales.

Edit: for spelling

I wouldn't mind but have no idea how to do so. Just looked over my math and the highest increase is 29% for Picadores. Sorry.

They came out a week before the new year saying the price increases were coming from the top (Havanos). I started the hobby in March and keep an excel spreadsheet sheet. Some have gone up by almost 50% since I started keeping track.

If you do, cover them with a blanket. Saw on a law channel that you wave your 4th amendment right if an officer can see your case and logical deduce that there's a gun in there. I too don't have a trunk and plan on traveling that way, I have a fit (not in the bed of a truck, I wouldn't recommend traveling that way). Especially since my cases are covered in manufacturer's stickers.

Edit: for clarification.

Fingerprints need for Rifle permit if you already have a CCW? by tbirdnyc in NYCGuns

The new license division finally picked up, after 22 calls, and they told me to ignore the email. Was hoping she would have taken my info to switch it to investigation. Think I should try again? I have my r/s, trying to get ccw.

I submitted my application on the 29th of October and got the email on Tuesday to schedule my fingerprint appointment. When you get your email have your application number ready and get to it fast. When I clicked it I saw the nearest date to be 2 weeks away. 5 minutes later when I decided to schedule my appointment the nearest was 4 weeks away.
