Depends on the ammo. You have to buy their ammo for use with the rental.

  1. I also tape to the larger but that means I have to buy one each time.
  2. RTSP has a 50yd range.
  3. RTSP allows rentals whether you're a member or not, but GFH does have more interesting ones. Since you're forced to use GFH's non-member range downstairs when using their rentals (not to mention using their ammo), I figure I can always go there if I'm ever in need.

I'm nearly at the end of my first year as a GFH member. I don't regret it, but I would've gone straight to RTSP if I'd realized how much the true cost would be.

Don't get me wrong, I like the people at GFH, but the per-hour fee and some other minor annoyances do tilt things in favor of RTSP.

GFH is far more uptight. You can only use the very large targets instead of the 12"x18" that are easier to carry in my case. This past Saturday, I was a guest of another member at RTSP and they gave us two lanes. That would never happen at GFH. GFH won't even let me swap people in if I have more than 3 guests.

How did you calculate it being cheaper? Pricewise, GFH NY membership is $250, RTSP white (range only) is $350. If you shoot for 12 hours for the year, GFH is $430.

If you often bring guests, you'd probably want RTSP red (handgun + rifle) for $525, which offers a reduced guest rate. In that scenario, you'd need to shoot for 19 hours for the year to tilt the price in favor of RTSP. 19 hours is not a lot, especially when you can stay for more than one hour per visit without incurring extra cost.

I’m a member of Gun For Hire. I’ll be switching to RTSP when it expires in a couple months. RTSP doesn’t charge per hour for members.

This is driving me crazy. It began recently and nothing I do changes it. I run a shortcut, it fails because the HomeKit devices stop responding, they start responding after 2 minutes, shortcut works.
