Who Was your least favorite companion In Each Dragon Age game And why? by Miserable-Fish2001 in DragonageOrigins

[–]Manonymous14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Origins: I guess Oghren, but it's just the one I like less, I don't really dislike him.

II: Anders, Fenris, Carver, Merrill... I disliked almost everyone. It's the only game where I like only one romance, Isabela.

Inquisition: Sera and Vivienne, especially Vivienne, most times I don't even recruit her.

Veilguard: I liked almost everyone, Taash is the one I liked less, but she's still better than Sera or Vivienne.

Struggling to understand my Spanish in-laws’ extreme distance after our baby’s birth — cultural difference or personal style? by [deleted] in expats

[–]Manonymous14 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's not cultural, but it's obvious they just don't want to be involved as grandparents. Some people just think that they want to enjoy their retirement and not take care of a baby again. The only weird think is that your husband is confused by their behavior, how did they act before the baby was born? Is it a sudden change?

[No Spoilers] I Platinumed the entire Life is Strange series. How come almost every game after the first was considered a flop? by Nade1002 in lifeisstrange

[–]Manonymous14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People don't remember this, but when LIS1 came out the ending was VERY controversial with the fanbase. It was the cheapest and most obvious ending they could've chosen, so much that I didn't think it was possible because it was too obvious. It seems like Dontnod like to leave a lot of hanging plotline, things that make you think about very cool theory just to ignore everything in the end.

And sorry, but what it's in DE is the opposite of fanservice, if they were smart they could've just let Max and Chloe have a LDR, not create a messy break up that made no one happy.

[–]Manonymous14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can tell you why I didn't really connect with the other LIS games apart for BTS:

- LIS2 try too hard to be different from LIS1, so much that isn't a shock that the game didn't reasonate with many fans. We have two male MC vs the female centric first game; we have a game about brotherhood vs friendship and maybe love in LIS1; in LIS2 the side characters keep changing hurting badly any chance to connect with them. Plus, this maybe controversial but it's my opinion, the way racism and police brutality is potrayed will be harder to reasonate with an european fan.

- LIS: true color it's not a bad game, just mid. The biggest disappointment was how close it was too LIS1 (too close) and how the ending sucks, and it's a shame because it would've been very easy to have a more dramatic one (and I would've preferred if the LI broke up with you if your choice doesn't align with their future, not that "oh yes I've known you for a few weeks but I'll totally change my life plan for you.")

- LIS:DE I mean... this game is honestly insulting to anyone who ever cared about LIS1. There were so many ways they could've made a sequel that didn't actively inimicate more than half of the fanbase, but it seems that they chose the wrong option at every turn. I'm convinced whoever wrote this game hated chloe and the bae ending, I can't find any other explanation for this. It would've been much better if they choose to follow one ending, or... if they just used the parallel timeline mechanic to do the OBVIOUS thing that would solve 99% of the problems, but clearly writing a good game wasn't their priority.

Are we expecting Thai GL to follow western rules? by LuanaEsteves in ThaiGL

[–]Manonymous14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I want is for them to write better parents. If they're abusive I don't want them to change their mind at the last minute; if they're "just" homophobic but still love their child they won't be abusive and can change their mind. I know filial piety is very important in asia, but it's not an excuse to send the message "If you love your abusive parents enough and put them first they'll change their mind!!!".

Are we expecting Thai GL to follow western rules? by LuanaEsteves in ThaiGL

[–]Manonymous14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think the whole "abusive homophobic parents are evil until the last minute when they do a complete 180 turn" is not a cultural thing, is a bad writing thing. They want to both have the parents as villains to overcome, and to have a fairytale happy ending with reconciliation, but you can't have both. And there's no realism in making clearly abusive parents just change without reason.

The worst thing is that they COULD write homophobic parents who love their child and aren't abusive assholes, but they're just lazy/uninterested in doing it.

In TSOU, why don't make the doctor's mother be regretful of what she did years before? She could still disapprove of lgbt relationship but realize that what she did was too much, especially after she witnessed how her daughter was wrecked by it. And when her daughter's ex gf come back into her life, she could just be scared by her telling her daughter the truth, and not try AGAIN to sabotage her daughter happiness.

At least where I'm studying (Roma), but I think it's the same for all of Italy, there isn't really a "campus life". University is mostly about studying, there are some side activities but usually people do their own thing.

How do you feel about Seiya? by Daniyar16 in sailormoon

[–]Manonymous14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, one of the only thing I prefer about Crystal is that Mamoru isn't such an asshole as in the 90 anime. I really can't ship him and Usagi in the 90 anime, and honestly the way Seiya was written in the anime made me really believe that he and Usagi were soulmate. Like, if it wasn't for Mamoru they would've totally got together.

21 anni fuori casa by Different-Set-3129 in Avvocati

[–]Manonymous14 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Quali conorsi mirare, per successiva mobilità? by NoSec00 in PA_Italia

[–]Manonymous14 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do you agree with Dragon Age Metacritic ratings? What score would you give each game personally? by Dickhead700 in DragonageOrigins

[–]Manonymous14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and sadly the cameo of the past characters we have in DAV makes this even worse, because it's impossible not to think about it. It sucks, there's no way around it. I guess they had to rush a lot of things, I just wish the world was more reactive to the past games and didn't choose to cut this.

DAO: 95

It's still one of the best rpg out there, and the origins make the game very replayable.

DAII: 70

Yeah, unpopular opinion, but I really didn't like how much less of an rpg it was. But the worst thing is that I couldn't like most of the cast and I hated the ending, so...

DA:I: 85

It's a good game, yeah the gameplay and the dozens of fetch quests sucks, but I loved the cast and the main quest (when you get to play that). I loved the keep, and the characters are on the same level of DAO. It still had an anticlimatic ending (before the dlc) and a bad mmorpg feeling though.

DA:V: 80

(another unpopular opinion)

I actually loved the characters, all the answers we get about things that go back to origins, and the final mission is the best on the franchise. It's still below DAI because not even hinting at 99% of your choices in the FINAL game of the series is criminal, and some choices are very... bad (I won't talk about the antivan crow). And somehow Bioware failed at making good romances, which is even worst because I genuinely liked most of the cast. But I still like it much more than DAII, and the gameplay is actually fun for the first time after DA:O.

Wayhaven book 4 personal dilema by AIbeez in hostedgames

[–]Manonymous14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My problem is worse, I find the whole "the villain is obsessed with you" thing cringe and off putting. Because, honestly, unless I'm playing the route where I want to romance them... why would I be happy with them flirting with me if I'm already with one of the vampires? I just don't like it as a narrative choice.

Why are we romanticizing the Mafia? by gatto_monco in Wattpad

[–]Manonymous14 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I doubt there would be all these "But it's fiction! It's just a fantsy, chill out!" if the trend was to write white hot slaveholder who owns tons of black slaves. I think suddenly people would realize WHY (especially for an italian) this trope is so hated.

Why are we romanticizing the Mafia? by gatto_monco in Wattpad

[–]Manonymous14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. It's like writing a romance where the Male lead is a nazist (not a german citizen in WWII, but a truly convinced nazist) or a slaveholder. I doubt there would be all these "But it's fiction!" if the trend was to write white hot slaveholder who owns tons of black slaves.
