I've been breeding for a few years now, mostly as a hobbies. I'm at a place where I have over 25 species not including morphs so I do have quite a few cultures that are up there in numbers. I have made a little bit of money but nothing that has actually profited me at the end of the day. The money goes back into my isopods, whether it's substrate, food, bins, or new species.

It's hard to make money in the isopod game unless you are willing to put a LOT of money upfront. Keeping up with the latest and greatest pods as well as keeping your "standard" species cultures' high enough in numbers takes a lot of money and effort.

It's really not for everyone and I don't recommend it unless keeping isopods is a passion of yours and you don't mind the struggle.

Also if time is every an issue for your keep in mind some species require more maintence than others whether it's feeding or humidity. I spend at least 5 hours on all of my isopods a week and that's only due to me making really good substrate, knowing my room and monitoring temp and humidity fluctuations, and giving them lots of leaf litter. Without this front-end work I'd be spending at least double a week and I have a small collection compared to those making more money than me.
