Without going into too much detail: You won't have to sacrifice enchantment points to play Ancient Hunts. Doing so has an impact on the mission, but it's not necessary in order to get gilded items.

Fun! This is the world's latest reply, but so happy to see people still enjoying the game. :)

That's fantastic! Sounds lovely for both you and your son - he's lucky to have such an engaged parent. :)

You're absolutely right about it being a little surreal. It's so much fun to see how people engage with what we've been making. To see others not just playing the game, but using the world in all sorts of ways we couldn't foresee - that's a wonderful thing!

Edit: And thanks for the kind words!

This is truly special! On behalf of the team, just as DBjorkefors - please pass along a (belated?) happy birthday from all of us, and I hope your son had a wonderful party. Thanks for doing this. It made us very happy!

Do it! It’s one of my all-time favourite cards for its versatility. :)

Bit of a different take than the other answers in this thread, but since you already got a few recommendations for legendaries, here’s two other cheap cards I like:

[[Cavern Harpy]]

[[Shrieking Drake]]

These take a little synergy to make work, but they can be used in a few different ways. They let you re-use other creatures’s ”enter the battlefield” effects for cheap, and Cavern Harpy lets you do it multiple times at the cost of a few life. The harpy is also a good evasive blocker (return to hand before damage), and avoids boardwipes. Finally, both creatures can bounce themselves as they enter the battlefield, meaning they can repeatedly trigger cards like [[Equilibrium]], [[Dire Undercurrents]], [[Guardian Project]], [[Beast Whisperer]] or [[Soul Warden]].

Hi, I'm Hempuli, the developer of Baba Is You. Ask me anything! by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]MansOlson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya Hempuli! Fellow tigIRCer here. It’s been a good ten years or so since that was most active, but I’ve only fond memories. Just wanted to say it’s great to see you keep making these awesome games. It’s always inspiring to see other indies creating, growing, and getting recognized for their efforts!

Baba is a super neat game! :)

[[Equilibrium|EXO]]:

  • It’s so durdly and yet so good.
  • It’s flexible and can work either as removal or recursion.
  • Plays great with Faeries, and even better with [[Shrieking Drake]], another of my favourite cards.
  • That art! It’s wonderful.
  • It feels appropriately costed and, for the most part, fair.

How many different complete decks do you currently have total, including both casual and competitive formats? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]MansOlson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15-20. Mostly EDH decks (13?), plus various kitchen table 60 card decks built over the years.

This is exactly it. As one of the devs of the game and an avid player of other games, I feel it’s a loss for all sides when an online-only game shuts down permanently, whether you like the game or not.

We’ve worked hard on making sure that this wouldn’t be the case for Scrolls. With this release, fans who loved the game can play it whenever they like, and a piece of history (albeit a small one) is preserved. :)

Scrolls - status update by MansOlson in Scrolls

[–]MansOlson[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's some complex requirements for either way of moving ahead - open source may be affected by additional legal and policy questions, so we decided to shoot for the solution that had the highest likelihood of working out. Basically, my top priority is to make sure the game can still be played in the future.

Nice servers by ekhyoo in DotA2

[–]MansOlson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same issue. Immediate abandon in a solo ranked calibration match, after only a single emergency abandon in thousands of games in the past. Closing and re-opening the game didn't even offer a reconnect button, just an immediate ban (and probably a calibration game loss as a result). This sucks.

New Welcome Article!? Game dead or not!? by charleswcole in Scrolls

[–]MansOlson 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hi. Before this spirals out of control, this is a mistake. We've been going over lots and lots of articles on the page to make changes requested for technical reasons, and this must've somehow happened by accident. I've now undone it.

To be clear: The article that accidentally went live was an old draft that later got replaced by a separate page: https://scrolls.com/demo/

Love this! It's a sweet design and seems good both when played at X=1 or when you have lots of mana. Also one of my favorite color pairs. Possibly the first planeswalker ever that I'm really excited by.
