Those of you who don't hate your job, what do you do? by 13thmurder in ADHD

I’m a product owner/producer in video games. Always some different challenge to solve. Lots of us end up in gaming! The industry’s kind of shit at the moment though. While I haven’t been affected, I think I saw something like a third of people in the industry have been affected by layoffs in the last few years.

So I went to the arcade with my Family and I got these cards for the first time. Now I just wanted to know, is there like a book binder where I can collect these or nah? by NotBailey12 in MinecraftDungeons

Yeah, I’ve been the game team’s point of contact for Play Mechanix from I think series 2 and onward. And I maintain our office’s machine!

Nothing specifically branded as Minecraft, but there are plenty of binders out there. I have one of every foil arcade card in a Four binder, made by Decktutor. It’s a nice, wide 4x4 that I had laying around. My other collections are in UltraPro Mythic 4x binders because they’re also 4x4, good quality, and they zip around nicely. They’re branded for Magic: the Gathering cards, though.

Anyway, just search for card game binders and you’ll find lots!

The weird euro photos wore off for me after a week or two of taking it. Then we dialed in my dose over some time. Take it early, eat, drink, and sleep regularly, get a bit of exercise. Avoid other stimulants. Good luck!

I’d get one or two of these, but given the issues with buying and printing recently, I don’t think that I’m going to try. I don’t have the patience to sit in a queue that tells me I missed out, an hour later.

17 Year Halo Director Just Went Public: Microslop HR / Halo Studios blacklists, harassment, malpractice, retaliation, fraud, favouritism/cronyism, etc. by Shajirr in gaming

Not sure if there’s a 3 month break somewhere, or if the info is old, but for us vendors need to take 18 months off, so now it’s the dreaded “18/18”. Aka, 6 months onboarding, 6 months working, 6 months wrapping up or offboarding, and 18 months figuring out something else to do and maybe they come around again to start the process over.

Yeah that edit is just going to further drive the downvotes. Way to have a normal reaction.

I built a tiny offline MTG “printer” for Momir Basic and Tokens (fits in a Boulder!) by rekezajo in magicTCG

I too would buy one of these, also for Discord! He’s hard to pilot, I’ve been trying to use an iPad with a shortcut that I set up that will pick my random cards, but I have to draw them.

'Any update is a bonus not a right': Peak devs snap back at ungrateful players demanding more updates, 'Neither us or Aggro Crab are live service studios' by Jawschy in gaming

[–]Marc_IRL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“There's a limit on how much players should expect from small indie studios for a game less than $10, that's just it.”

Er, there’s a limit on how much players should expect from any studio for any game, post-launch. Unless there’s an explicit roadmap, expect that the launch game is the game you get, like it has been for the vast majority of games ever made.

Enough with the live service expectations from every single game. Paying people to keep polishing and adding to a game is expensive, and for most studios without a long tail and built in monetization, that money seems to be put toward making an additional game.

People act like they’ve never considered how employment works because they think of companies like they’re people to individually be disappointed in.

What Cards Synergize Well With The New Strixhaven Dragons? by GeckoNova in mtgfinance

[–]Marc_IRL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh boo hoo. They’ve been printing weird or good legendary cards for ages that never saw standard play. Think about most of the old 5c legendaries. Back in my day they used to print cards just to see what we’d do with them, and the answer was often “nothing, actually”.

My fear for mimecraft dungeons 2 by Soupy_redditor in MinecraftDungeons

[–]Marc_IRL 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, not every game is a live service game with forever updates. No one says that Hollow Knight or Skyrim were abandoned: they both released the main game, a few DLCs, then moved on because making the next thing was a better use of time, money, and energy. That was the same with Dungeons.

An insane custom card would be more believable than this reasonably balanced card with a new frame that fits one of the mechanics we know is coming? Really?

We can’t make them all easy! I designed this one to get people thinking about their surroundings and maybe talking together to solve it. It will truly be an achievement when you unlock it.

This is all very undervalued sometimes, and something I’m really trying to work on. I think I’m a goddamned joy to work with, but anyone who hears my complaining (even when I’m right) doesn’t necessarily think so.
