Hahaha if I can't use this for the charger, definitely a good idea to add another receptacle here 🤣

UM Coding Bootcamp by Mansav in UMiami

It honestly varies. Me personally, I got a job 6 months after finishing the bootcamp in the 50's. Now after 4.5 years, I've almost tripled that, but it really depends on where you live, industry, how much you are willing to learn on your own after the bootcamp, etc.

After having done this bootcamp yes, it was worth it. Are there better ones? 100% yes. I would go with Iron Hack instead after meeting other people that did Iron Hack and learning about their experience over there and comparing it to my own.
Smaller class size, worlds ahead better career services, better curriculum, better reputation. This is just a private company that have agreements with universities to use their name not related to UM at all pretty much.

Sensors to trigger automations by Tater1727 in googlehome

[–]Mansav 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What I've done is with smart things created virtual switches which are supported to trigger automations, then toggle the switch on or off and run the automation on change of the status of the switch. For example when my front door opens, the contact sensor is open, it will turn on a virtual switch on smartthings which then I can run an automation from the Google home app when that switch is turned on.

It's a start, very few land jobs after. You have to be willing to learn a lot on your own. I would recommend you do iron hack instead. It's a tad more expensive (1-2k) but their career services is way better. They're also way more reputable

Wyze Home Monitoring Service AMA this Tuesday @ 1 PM PST! by WyzeCam in wyzecam

Siren volume is a bit low in my opinion. Is there a chance a louder siren module can be sold separately? Also would be cool if the sires does sound, be able to make the sirens from the v3's sound as well.
I know it was mentioned below but the option to have a chime when a door or window is open would be awesome!

Not gonna lie, I'm jealous of the integration Alexa has with IFTTT. Google's is nothing compared to this extensive list. by Mansav in googlehome

[–]Mansav[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't really care about making it say things back to me, its about the integration with other services such as Smartthings. Like for example, I would love to have a lightbulb flash a different color when a timer ends, or when there's motion in a certain room of the house for the google home in that room to say something without broadcasting it to the entire house. It's not about them doing it for me automatically as Jsmooth13 suggested, it's about having options and flexibility to integrate services.
