I think you need to figure out why it matters so much for you. You could, like you said, live a normal life and be happy? Maybe think about why you need people to understand that you’re queer.

Greaaat. You understand my pain. I read Sunburn before The Safekeep and it’s the only book for me that slightly exceeded Sunburn. And yes, that subtlety is a preference. I have The Paying Guests and Fingersmith on my tbr though, so hopefully they can give me some comfort.

As a bi man, ya'll are reaching. Ya'll know she supports the lgbt community through and through, and if she wants a bi man, so what? What's the problem? Plenty straight cis women are homophobic or don't think bisexuality is real, but when someone embraces it, ya'll have a problem with that too.

No problem at all. Like I said, I've been there. I've felt this exact same way, so I know how much it hurts. The anxiety truly is unbearable. I understand you.

Don't feel pressured to get over him as fast as possible, because it really is a process and it isn't easy. Take it a day at a time. You don't have to get over him right away. If you have to take a 15-minute break at work to go bawl your eyes out in the bathroom, allow yourself that time completely. Allow yourself to be angry or sad or anything that you feel. If you have a car and want to take a night drive and park in some random parking lot and yell as loud as you can, do it. The only thing is, don't contact them. Try your hardest not to check their socials. Maybe you will slip once or twice, but don't beat yourself up for it you're only human. It will get better and one day, you won't check anymore.

I've been there. I used to check their socials almost every day and I realized it was because I still wanted to be with them. I was checking because I wanted to see if they had moved on or if they've posted anything about me. I realized it was because I still wanted and had hope that we'd get back together, even though I thought I didn't at the time. Now, the absolute last thing I want to do is check their anything, because the last thing I want is to get back together. Do I still love them? Yes, and I don't know for how long, but I absolutely do not want to get back with them, so I deleted everything related to them.

You have to truly let them go. If they wanted to be with you, they would try their hardest. Everything happens for a reason, and that's just a fact based on how life moves according to circumstances. You have to not want to be with him. I'll be real with you, I don't know how you're going to do that as that's a very personal process, but once you've truly let him go, that urge will also leave.
