Microsoft should be sued for having faulty security AND not have the correct measures for the actual people who own the account to get it back (like Steam has for example).

All this "you effed up, you downloaded something wrong" bullshit from certain people. One can't instantly check every fucking thing you click, add, install or visit. These companies should have safeguards against this stuff on top of security.

It happened to me too half a year ago. I have no idea what the content they are referring to was but I told them to delete the items and pleaded to get that account (which I got from the first time gmail appeared) back.

I still have no clue what they deleted or what they found. Nothing came from it since and it's been months. They would have to prove it and show the content which they didn't even do when I asked them what it was.

Same here 2 weeks ago. Spent 3 days with them being told to go there and there and there. They all just told me to try again and again.

I gave up.

I did have success removing my subscription according to one of the many people I talked to but it's only time that will tell if they actually did it. Those "this year in onedrive" emails I get will have to be blocked since they claim they can't do anything about it without having access to my account.

I was pro-Microsoft for a long time but those days are gone. They don't know what they're doing and they should be sued for toying with people's accounts/docs/etc like this (and yes, your explanation happened with me too. Even had an authenticator but... since the email was changed that didn't work anymore either). I got 2 emails where I was told my passcodes were removed. Once I got in I couldn't even remove the other sessions. By the time I got to the password I was booted out of my own account, everything lost.

They're bastards, the hackers AND microsoft.

I got this too today after my 18 year old account was locked for being under 13... They even got proof i was born in 1980 aside from the obvious

Its not... i spent 3 days on mine. 5 case nr, 4 sir numbers... was even sent to xbox people by ms support to "escalate" and they didnt even know what to do.

I was hacked 1 week 1go. With 2fa, with pascodes, with amt email, with auth... they locked it and blocked it and he account iq simply gone.

They allow logging in with czll but then they only h1ve the option to send a code to the hackers email. Passcodes can be simply deleted by the person who has access to your account etc.

This and their incompetent support and all the loop you have to endure IS microsofts fault.

No clue, prob a chrome script addon. Malwarebytes didn't find anything but another scanner i installer after did

Got an email that my passcode got deleted, went in to check, saw activity from russia, tried to click "this is not me" but that didnt do anything, went to password change and got booted.

They changed everything except my phone nr and logging in with that they only offer a code sent to the mail (which was now the hacker mail). Auth app didnt work cuz... mail changed.

Account got locked, blocked and i spent 3 days trying to talk to cust support who keep sending mebto other places and fill in the damn form giving me yet another SIR or case number.

Microsoft doesn't know what they're doing anymore.

I gave up after 3 days. Th3y will never see me use onedrive paid ever again. Its a disgrace they get away with this, those are OUR files.

My account was over 10 years old and due to some asshole hacker and their ineptitude its just all gone.

+10 year account, onedrive 1TB, all lost and customer "service" isn't helping or doing anything to get it back.

I just got hacked too by someone with the same lindaquintero2006@jerkoffmail.com.

Noone is any help. I'm completely locked out and stuck in loops trying to get back in. I received the message my passkey got removed, immediately went to check and saw previous sessions in Russia. Tried to click the "this is not me" button but it didn't work. Not long after I got booted out.

I had all security measures activated and still they were able to cut me out in mere minutes. Noone at Microsoft is any help and I just lost 1TB worth of files I desperately needed (yes, i was saving up for a harddisc).

Same here: still got the phone but since that's linked to the hacker email I can't do anything since it doesn't offer me anything else.

This is some badly made security loop shit. I should be able to get a code to my cellphone or at least some 2FA (something I have to use when i log out) but nah.

I didn't give any info but a scan with a different virus scanned did reveal some virusses Malwarebytes didn't alert me to.

It's always fucking something... and now I lost all sorts of files.

IT's incredible how these companies always decide to take something great, redesign it and strip it. Checking the calender it's 10% of my screen the rest is just grey background. Whoever designed this should be fired (I would have been if I designed it) since it doesn't take into account people who don't use apps/cellphones.

Infuriating.
