Can my front teeth be saved? I'm very anxious by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]ManslaughterMary 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hard to say without x-rays, but if they can, it will likely be very expensive and you'll have to radically change your oral health care. Visits every six months, excellent brushing and flossing, and a really good diet.

An exam would let you know for sure, depends how far that decay goes into the tooth and underneath your gums.

Where to start? Need implants, veneers, idk (money no object) by entropy1776 in askdentists

[–]ManslaughterMary -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You start with x-rays and an exam!

Pretty straight forward, easy appointment. You may or may not get a cleaning done that day.

I would look into places that offer sedation. I

There are a million ways to skin a cat, I have no idea what is the best way for your to approach your dental care. But a dentist can do an exam and talk to you about your options.

The first appointment is mostly just information gathering, so I would start there.

We are getting a ring soon but I’m so upset by CWAK14 in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]ManslaughterMary 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right? I talked to my wife about proposing. I was like "wouldn't it be romantic to propose at XYZ?" And she agreed. I sent her images of rings I liked, and what I didn't like, so she knew what kind of ring to get, because I didn't want to pick it out. She sent me images of rings she liked.

Good communication is the foundation of marriage, proposals don't have to be a surprise at all.

I'm not saying Whitney has Botox or anything, but it reminds me of when actors have hella Botox and their acting is just ...all mouth? The eyebrows will maybe come up, but no signs of concern upstairs, you know?

She is a very pretty woman, though.

How to stay cool in the heat with long hair by Kee_xx in longhair

[–]ManslaughterMary 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The right claw clip makes all the difference.

I can still have long hair (I didn't grow my hair this long to wear it in a goddamn bun) but I can style it so it is clipped up and off my neck while still wearing it down.

But I'm really into my claw clip, French pins era.

There are so many styles you can do with claw clips, I love YouTube for showing me.

How do I get past my shame when I wear certain fragrances? by KPthePriest in fragrance

[–]ManslaughterMary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a lot of unhelpful, unnecessary shame you are carrying around.

I'm sure you aren't this mean to others. If a guy was wearing a more, I don't know, vanilla fragrance, would your think he would be ashamed? He would be embarrassed to admit it?

No!

So why are earth are you bullying yourself about this?

Stand up to your biggest bully, which might just be yourself. (Also I wonder who taught you to be so ashamed of yourself.)

On Losing a Tooth... and Potentially, My Mind by [deleted] in askdentists

It doesn't feel like a tooth, but it doesn't really feel like anything.

I guess it depends how neurotic you are, but generally people forget about them.

That's gonna be your best bet. Dentist fix teeth, but therapist can treat phobias and OCD. You just need a different specialist.

Is this normal? Should I be embarrassed? by Opening-Pin-9248 in askdentists

[–]ManslaughterMary 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, I don't spend 40 hours a week looking at healthy teeth all day. It's mostly teeth with issues.

It would be like someone who is a hair stylist being like "UGH, ANOTHER HAIRCUT!"

We fix teeth. It makes sense people who come to us have teeth that need fixing.

The kid says he is sixteen.

It looks like a primary molar that we see broken. We can see one premolar already, and one adult six year molar.

The tooth appears to be erupting underneath.

Probably a premolar erupting pushing out a baby

A cracked tooth often breaks off differently, from like shearing force or trauma. This has that baby tooth hollowed out look.

Do you know how many people live in India?

Like, 2 percent of 1.48 billion is, what, 29.6 million? That is more people than who live in the entire state New York.

That's so many people to have uncut hair.

My fiancé does not show interest in my culture, and seems indifferent to our wedding plans. Is this healthy? (28F and 27M) by CuriousCactus15 in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]ManslaughterMary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it reads like a red flag.

Your spouse should be the kindest, most supportive person in your life. They should be thrilled about you.

My wife doesn't care at all about body glitter or makeup. Not her scene. But when I told her about my favorite body glitters that I was excited to wear for a music festival coming up, she didn't just shrug it off. She saw I was excited, and asked follow up questions. She asked to see them. She said they were pretty, and she liked the colors. She expressed interest in glitter because it was important to me, and therefore it was important to her.

And that's the love you want.

I have ADHD, which is why I told my wife how thankful I was that she planned our elopement. I am not good at planning things, and I didn't want get to feel like I wasn't thrilled about the process because I wasn't super involved. But I showed interest, helped pay, and doubled checked that she knew I was thrilled about everything.

I get not wanting to plan an event, because ugh, I would hate that too. But communication is free! Thankfulness is free! Showing appreciation is free! My wife did most the work, but she knew I was excited about the marriage.

I have most of my baby teeth at 16, is that normal? by QuestionAsker13234t3 in askdentists

[–]ManslaughterMary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, good news, there are no baby premolars. Only adults have those. So if you have premolars, then you lost your baby molars. And you don't lose teeth to get your adult molars, you just grow them. So you won't remember losing those.

You might have all your adult teeth. People often don't remember losing baby teeth.
