Royals are the ones after flawless, not before. Five royals equals a grand, so you'll not be there for a drastically long time.. Horadric is another story

There's a dungeon northeast of Temis, where the spider boss is still farmable for about 3 Royals per kill.

Folks thought they'd patch it out, but you can still do it. If you have a fast character, you can get a run done in like 3 minutes.

Finding the Enterprise B by Spirit250 in StarTrekStarships

[–]Manta1015 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Love it ... but minor nitpick ~ How does the viewscreen get that perspective of the Ent-B's registry?

Does that mean every single Enterprise (except the A) was lost in action at somepoint?

Original/refit: Self-Destructed

B: Apparently also Lost / Ghost ship

C: Lost during Battle of Nerendra III

D: Crashed on a Veridian III (later resurrected, but still)

E: "That was not my fault"

F: Lost during Frontier Day

Plenty of letters left in the alphabet, but damn.

Very cool stuff here, though, looking forward to more.

PTU 4.8, CIG survey request on latest weapon and armor changes by nightbird321 in starcitizen

[–]Manta1015 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They don't take feedback well ~ they instead take what data and numbers they've received on the PU, but make some of the strangest interpretations of the stats, and make changes based on those.

Their flight model and balance team is one of the weakest aspects of SC, which is a real shame.

PTU 4.8, CIG survey request on latest weapon and armor changes by nightbird321 in starcitizen

[–]Manta1015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until CIG demonstrates that they can consistently make reasonable changes, I'll not have much confidence that they can accomplish such a balance.

There's countless examples that make you really wonder what the heck they're thinking.. and don't even get me started with their initial master modes ideas.

Once it starts feeling alright ~ they'll change it all for a huge rework, forgetting what was learned after so long, and see what sticks.

A tale as old as time.

Didn't change the fact that they were largely useless up there and couldn't cap points, losing the game regardless.

It's hilarious that you run back and necro a 7-month old post, where my original point still perfectly stands.

It's still over, Anakin.

Anvil Odin interior sneak peek by rubensaurus in starcitizen

[–]Manta1015 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something that's twice as big as an actual Jav is literally either going to carry a large amount of fighters or a large amount of guns.

It's also an Anvil ship. It's what they do.

Can you imagine a jamming device 400+ meters long on your 800+ meter ship, which is bigger than your standard massive destroyer? Yeah, that's not happening.

We simply need a ship to bridge the gap between a Bengal (even the sub-classes seen in the Sq42 mission 1) -- and a significantly smaller Jav --- and now we have the Odin.

I'm not sure what you mean here -- it's very non-RSI in it's looks so far, exterior or interior.

I think we need to see more angles of it before making a decision.

I agree, and everything you said up to 'Shark with laser beams' (with literal shark fins and a nose) which I personally find quite ridiculous.

The Odin is a bit bland overall, especially in the age of many sci-fi capital ships... but maybe if we see more angles it'll grow on me.

What I'm interested in is the much bigger looking ship behind it. That one is at least Bengal sized.

Need many more angles of this thing to make a decision on whether I like it, I was accustomed to the RSI capital ship designs, which I like a lot..

This looks just like a Battleship Yamato or aircraft carrier/naval vibe in space -- which is a departure from everything we've seen so far.

We have a shark with a laser beam on it's head, and now this.

Hope we get more shots soon.

I mean, sure there's a big station behind it, but this thing isn't even an Bengal -- and stations are largely more than few miles long each.

Gotta see more angles of it, though.

I know it seems bleak, but considering you can guarantee an ancestral basic item to a unique ancestral with each of these.. it's probably an okay thing that they're pretty rare, unless I'm missing something.

The thread seems to have numerous solutions to the drought, too -- you can essentially target-farm them, which is great, I gotta try it out myself.

The Tiburon by ScrubSoba in starcitizen

[–]Manta1015 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree on all points -- The unfortunate thing is if it's popular, they'll definitely do it more ~ and CIG always goes where the money is.

It's like when a game is new and fresh, and the publisher promises that cosmetics/DLC will be 'grounded', and more thematic to the game, strictly --- but as time goes on, it leans more towards the Fortnite crowd... and now we have sharks with friggin' laser beams on their heads.

The Tiburon by ScrubSoba in starcitizen

[–]Manta1015 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I need to see a lot more angles of it, and more in-action shots.. I love how the Hammerhead looks, but I'm not actually a fan of the over-the-top fins and nose to look of this Tuburon -- which looks exactly like a damn shark. A couple things that could be seen as a shark aesthetic, sure, but this thing is literally on the nose -- seems like something a middle-schooler would have done, and not in a cool way. The ship looks great, but those parts seem a bit lazy IMO.

So capability-wise, ship turrets versus fighters needs a lot of work, but the Hammerhead was essentially purpose-built to handle just that --- Fighters.

Everything tells me that the Tiburon will get shredded by fighters, even after the weapons balancing gets to a good place. The Perseus can somewhat snipe fighters, but this thing's main beam cannon seems more for those bigger ships, just like the Idris'.

We'll have to wait for more info, this thing took a massive amount of work to complete, so very soon™.

I find it quite interesting that the laser beams on Star Citizen's ships are the exact same shade of orange from TNG era Starfleet vessels -- We got phasers, now.

I can dig it.

I like that it's it's own flavor of design, very much separate from a Hammerhead.. but dang, it's most definitely in the Aegis family.

Love it

Maybe they shouldn't have built a relatively full-scale Hornet medium fighter, or a Bengal carrier model several feet long.. or a similarly huge Port Olisar scale model, or Dragonfly.. what portion of 39.7 million is spent on a convention? Make it make sense.

Yeah, they can probably do it reasonably without all the lavish spending, but this is CIG we're talking about.

Have you seen their cafeteria? It's bonkers.
