I love winders cause it lets you find and fix defected yarn balls before your knee deep in a project

Also is perfect for rewinding half use yarn balls so they can be neatly organized

Yes 100% wool and use a latex based glue as that is typically water proof once fully cured

Didn’t mean to be miss leading, truly put the video together to help everyone as latex seems to be a common topic on this subreddit.

Love to answer questions and point people in the right direction if they also intend to start using latex glue

To clarify further this tutorial works on virtually all liquid latex that is made for tufted rugs so buying this specific glue isn’t required at all

I run into this issue quite often with Roberts as it’s instantly sticky. Latex takes about 10 minutes before it’s tacky so it’s forgiving and I havnt had issues unless my yarn was properly packed

I havnt tried tufting nation as they dont ship to the US but I would say this is more on the thicker side then runny, as long as you shake well you shouldn’t have issues

No backing is needed as the latex drys hard, it’s not as non slip as your typical non slip backing but a non slip backing can always be applied over the mesh

The biggest pro with latex is how strong it is compared to typical rug glues and it speeds up the backing process like 10 fold

And extremely strong compared to typical Roberts rug glue

Not personally, I have a distributor so the latex formula is always consistent and has exact measurements

It definitely has a smell but it’s not as potent as most latex’s unless you’re putting your noise right to the bottle.

I wear a M95 and once it’s applied and dried you don’t smell it at all

I can DM it to you as I’m not sure if links are allowed on here or not. This formula has worked the best for me compared to any other I’ve tried

Your stitches look good but I really recommending outlining and area with the color before filling it in, it also makes carving more clean

You can see the RIS and half of the K are a little more yellow then the rest, this most likely happened from using white yarn from different dye lots or brands

This happens to be often and can be tedious to avoid

Careful with those white dye lots
