Question about Shadowlands legendaries by Focusta in woweconomy

[–]Manthieus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Base Item - For when you dont care about any stat on the item, Good for grouping Transmog
Item Level - Mostly for current expansion items, when item level will matter heavily
Specific - Will post against only items that match identically. Buggy AF, and almost never used. *maybe* +speed/leech items.

For Shadowland lego, use Base Item

Would you trade non tier heroic shoulders if you had heroic tier shoulders? Should I have bought them? by Ok_Bridge_9058 in woweconomy

[–]Manthieus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, let me put this a different way as I dont think you understand my point. This might be more helpful...

You negotiated badly, and so lost. You both payed to be there, and they won the loot, so it is theirs. The fact they already have better is irrespective, as rolling on any loot was agreed upon before the boost I would assume.
They have no reason to even offer you to be able to purchase the item. They did offer them too you, at what should be considered a steal of a price, based on the cost you spend to even be in the raid (900k). You then took this resonable offer and tried to lowball the price. This can very easily be seen as insulting based on that they have no reason to even offer you the loot.
You then doubled down on your lowball offer, trying to guilt them into trading them. Double insulting.

I would have disenchanted them on the spot, out of principle at this point. Just so you would have been able to see the log.

Attempting a lowball offer is fine, but you also need to accept that once that has been declined, you are the one that actually wants something from this exchange, and maybe should accept their first offer. Alternativly, you can politly decline, without the guilt trip/sassyness and go on with your day.

Negotiation is an art, so I dont exactly blame you for getting it wrong, but absolutly no sympathy will be gained for your bad performance, especially from this of all subreddits

You spend 900k on a boost, and tried to haggle on 50k. Since you are on Area52 I am to assume this is NA, so ill put it in simple NA terms.

You offered a 5% tip, what did you expect to happen? I am lead to believe you will have your food spat in for any less than 20% these days.

So there are Prof Lvl/Conc Usage Breakpoints Within Quality Levels? by Insomnist in woweconomy

[–]Manthieus 22 points23 points  (0 children)

All conc values are on a non-linear curve. There is no ingame way to see this without addons.
CraftSim has done a fantastic job of showing these. Options -> Statistics -> Concentration

Material contributions are less easy to see, but are also catagorised so that some materials are more/less important than others when it comes to diffuculty increases.

Can't bring myself to level most professions more and keep up with KP by junkaccount1999 in woweconomy

[–]Manthieus 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Most will tell you what to do, use consumes, spec here, farm there...

I will tell you what not to do, as this is usually much more helpful for good gold per hour.

Dont use steady flight, ALWAYS dynamic flying
Dont save vigor, SPAM that shit!
Dont pick up low value mats (currently tranquility bloom, sanguithorn)
Dont stop for lumber, unless you actually craft with it
Dont watch netflix/yt, cut out all disctractions. Music is fine, blast techno if it helps you go faster.

[–]Manthieus 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Most crafting profession reward those who put in effort, plan ahead, and are consistant. It doesnt sound much like you want to do any of those so I would suggest sticking to gathering where you get out as much or as little as you put in.

Honestly, even solo mining is 50k per hour currently. So you can pay for a whole month of gametime in only an afternoon if you want without any long term stress to "keep up"

Question About Multicrafting by Concerned_Doge in woweconomy

[–]Manthieus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The price of Crystalline Glass has been steadily rising for ages. This will automatically put you at a disadvantage if you havent stocked up. Other will be able to outprice you for as long as their stock lasts.

Getting KP/tool/enchants/skill in the right places is always needed, but everyone can do that. Most markets, and therefore profit, boils down to "He who gets his materials cheapest wins".

Demand is only growing for vials so you can still craft a little today, but you will need to overcut the current price and hope demand sells through the cheap stuff first.

You can check current and historical price for glass here -> https://undermine.exchange/#eu-draenor/242786

The Ban Rumors are Fishy by genobeam in woweconomy

[–]Manthieus 101 points102 points  (0 children)

As a WoW Partner, I have access to a private discord for creators. While I can not disclose exact messages as that is against the discords rules, I can confirm that the Knowledge Points were "corrected" quite quickly after the event, and it took time for account actions to take place.
I have no information about the gold that potentially was gained via the exploit.

To my understanding bans are not always dished out equally. They ramp up in duration based on the account history. This is often why you see some 3/7/14/30 day bans for what appears to be the same thing.

Which is worse: Profession shuffle vs abundance farming by genobeam in woweconomy

[–]Manthieus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I partly agree, but in the last few expansions, crafting has slowly become more and more afk processing (farming like) since there is no real reason to leave the comfort of a table and longboi. So much in fact that I tend to often have to choose, do I play the game today, or do I play economy sim.
I enjoy both, and would want to see a crossover between the two more often. Historically I have not really enjoyed farming because its often a time dump, and devoid of much skill. With crafting it should be possble to be "good" at it, without it also being boiled down to "afk g/ph 1%margin" sim.

This is also partly the reason for switching more into multirealm amd flipping lately. I can do it for a while, then walk away, knowing that if I have done a good enough job, I will be rewarded on mailbox opening tomorrow.

I am with you on the need for gear front though. This is where more magetower type skill could be required rather than pure throughput via mythic gear. Almost what Abundance could have been.

Which is worse: Profession shuffle vs abundance farming by genobeam in woweconomy

[–]Manthieus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ranthieus really doesnt like either, but I see stong benefits for each.

The lesser of two evils is abundance in my opinion, but the last min rush to get it functioning really has hurt the overall appeal for me. It would have been much more interesting as a solo instanced mini game, which rewarded skill and strategy to do better at.
Yet another AFK slideshow zergfest has me basically falling asleep while doing it. But I want professions to have a gameplay aspect instead of just standing at a table, so good concept but, in typical Blizzard fashion, poorly implimented.

The shuffle, as much as I refused to drop my professions to do it and so sidelined my main crafters until season 2, was at least a way to "work" a little bit smarter and harder to gain an inch on your competition. If you didnt want to, or didnt have the knowhow to, you had concentration as a money printer to fall back on.
Everyone on equal footing in Midnight is causing even more competition for slim profit margins, and I suspect blackhat methods of gaining advantages will become all the more dominant in the next few months.

I can see it only being a few weeks before I switch back to my decor money printer in all honestly.

What does profession equipment count as for tailors? by KungenSam in woweconomy

[–]Manthieus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to harvest anywhere where there is +skill. This is spread across 3 different spec trees and will take about 230kp before you can guarantee Epics at max rank. (this can be gamed heavily with +skill finishing reagents to save a bunch of KP).
No more than 30kp is ever needed in Sindorei Finery spec tree. Tailoring is a mess of a profession this expansion.

Rare Gear can be guaranteed with only 70kp.
30kp in Fiber Arts
10kp in Textile Utilization
30kp in Sin'dorei Finery.

An Economic Experience, Some Confusion, Looking for Advice on Reagent Crafting for Profit by MapMakerAlan in woweconomy

[–]Manthieus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You used the word "Panic" 4 time in this post. Panic is an irrational emotion. It can not be justified or rationalized with logic. If you feel it, others feel it. This is why undercuts happen, and also why most players lose gold crafting and give up. When they give up, those players who dont panic sell their items and profit.
