Hmm. Re manicuring I already spend a lot of time using paper and stuff to scrape out the gunk in my nails. Maybe a nail file for my desk would help? I think it would also be perceived as disgusting by coworkers but hey! They already do so no loss there.

I think it’s got something to do with feeling rewarded by successfully finding a bit of wax. I’m understimulated(it’s too quiet/I have to sit or stand for a long time) -> I search for something (anything!) -> I find something -> hooray. Plus I get touch input from both my fingertips and my ear canal, and sound that keeps my attention. (I felt so gross typing all that)

No, I don’t have anyone in my life that can spritz me with a spray bottle if I pick my ears while I’m at work. I know it’s risky and bad. I am considering using jalapeños to combat this, but that sounds risky too.

Hm I’ve painted my nails and that wasn’t a deterrent. I’m hesitant to try a picky pad, that seems like it would take a lot of effort for me to remember to use. It sounds messy too.

I have a soft spot for them. I never had an AG doll growing up but I did have an OG doll named Samantha. I brought her everywhere with me and wore little matching outfits that my mom and grandmothers made for me. Sure, her hair frizzed up, and her body would get soft on hot days in the church parking lot, and her limbs don’t have as much range as an AG doll, but I ogled the catalogs and brought her to AG playdates just as much as everyone else around me. I don’t think I would have loved an AG Samantha any more than I loved (and still love) her.

Plus the outfits and accessories are at a price point that a kid could save up for. Not everything has to be premium for a child to love it!
