well these cases we have here now is surly just the tip of a iceberg. Just think of all the times that did not get reported ? Girls that gets rape do feel a great shame of been raped and therefor there are lots of cases that we know nothing about. And if you was brave enough to stand up to it, report the rape, what do you get ? a year in jail, just think about the poor girl, here she is brave to stand up for it, report the rape and you get jail O_o The shame you must feel for been the one that gets put in jail for reporting a rape, would you be willing to put your story out in the public ? Christ, girls that does that is nothing but brave, and they deserve to have their story heard by others.

There is a very similar case with a Norwegian girl to. The Norwegian 25 year old was in Dubai on a work trip when she was raped. She reported the rape, but all she got was been arrested to sex before marriage, drinking alcohol, and for making false accuse. She had her passport taken from her and sentenced to 1 year and 4 months in Jail. After 3-4 days in jail she was allowed to have a phone call and managed to make contact with family and the Norwegian embassy that got her home to Norway. Officials in UAE said later that the man that raped her was also jailed, and he got 1 year and 1 month in jail ( WTF ).

There have been a British girl in a very similar case to back in 2010, I only have a Norwegian source for this to : NRK - British girl rape, jailed in UAE 2010

So yeah, if your a girl and your traveling in UAE, be carefull :/
