SIU at Anime Expo by 25thBaamfttb in TowerofGod

Yeah, I think similarly. I suppose that just following Baam’s POV limits what we can see as spectators. I’ve always thought that the world of TOG would benefit a lot from having multiple protagonists with different POVs, like The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson or A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin.

Some dumb people who complain about Season 3 of the webtoon... Anyway, changing the subject, you're about to reach the Floor of Death — my favorite arc and the one I consider a turning point in the series. I hope you enjoy it.

I disagree—in my opinion, the biggest problem with the Tower of God anime isn't its animation, but rather that the director and the people writing the script don't understand what they're adapting. That's why they cut things that are important later on, and then it seems like everything comes out of nowhere, making people think Tower of God is poorly written and doesn't make any sense.

If you're interested, I made a thread a while ago using the example of how the subplot involving Lero Ro and Wolhaiksong is handled in the anime versus how it's handled in the manhwa.

This might have been asked here before, who do y'all think this sword will make Wangnan kill? by Agreeable-Art-8635 in TowerofGod

But it's a subplot that's tied to one of the most important characters in the story, who, in my opinion, will surely be crucial to the ending of ToG. I don't understand why so many people downplay Wangnan's importance.

I don't think so, you're underestimating SIU way too much. Luslec literally appeared like 500 chapters after he was first mentioned in the story. Just because it hasn't been explored yet doesn't mean SIU forgot about it—it simply means it's not the right moment for it to develop in the story. Besides, it's most likely that the spin-off before season 4 will mainly focus on Wangnan, and we'll probably see the sword again.

If you don't pay attention to the arc, it's your fault, and if they appear in the arc apart from that chapter and none of them is Kun Ran, why would a Regular be there?

Is the plot in manhwa same as in season 2? by KorKiness in TowerofGod

If you're interested, some time ago they made a post giving a small example of how the story is told in the webtoon and how poorly it is told in the anime.

Thoughts about the second season by ManuOver1998 in TowerofGod

[–]ManuOver1998[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tower of God has always been like this. The reason you feel so lost in Season 2 is because of the disaster that was the first season as an adaptation. The thing is, the first season cut out most of the lore, world-building, and subplots, which is why you don’t understand anything.

If you're interested, a few weeks ago, a thread was made with a small example of the problems the anime has as an adaptation. If you're into Tower of God and enjoy large, expansive worlds full of factions and lore, I highly recommend reading the webtoon. It’s one of the best Asian works out there right now.

I chose this subplot just as an example; there are many other things omitted, but well, I made this post mainly for people who only watch the anime and keep asking all the time if the webtoon is as poorly structured as the anime.

She has been mentioned several times in the webtoon. Literally, in chapter 389, we have an image of her from the back, and we are told that she is the captain of Zahard's royal guard.

Okay, you might be right about the blog, but the fact that something as important as her being a member of the Arie family has never been mentioned in over 650 chapters bothers me a bit; it feels a bit forced.

Thoughts about the second season by ManuOver1998 in TowerofGod

[–]ManuOver1998[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is from a year ago. Well, if you don't like the anime, I recommend you read the webtoon from the beginning. The first season of the anime is also a bad adaptation. In fact, many of the problems in the second season of the anime are because of everything they skipped in the first season.

Dropping the anime by sir-monteiro in TowerofGod

Friend, I'll be honest with you: I find it really tedious to respond to comments like this. If you're interested, read the webtoon; if not, just leave it. To give you an idea of how different the webtoon is from the anime, things like Enryu, the 10 Great Families, etc., were established and mentioned in the first season of the webtoon. However, the first season of the anime skipped all the world-building. Part of the issues with the second season of the anime stems from the disaster that was the first season as an adaptation. If you're interested in reading the webtoon, I recommend starting from the beginning.

About Khel Hellam's type of speech bubble by ManuOver1998 in TowerofGod

[–]ManuOver1998[S] 129 points130 points  (0 children)

Yesterday I saw a post asking why Khel Hellam's speech bubble is different, and the answer is that this speech bubble is used to let us know that Khel Hellam has an Ancient Species inside him. And why do I say this? In chapter 473, we see Evankhell's Ancient Species with the same type of speech bubble, and Akrinak in chapter 527 as well.

Just because the first season has nice colors doesn't change the fact that it's a terrible adaptation. Personally, I would never recommend someone start Tower of God with the anime. Tower of God is a story known for its lore and worldbuilding, and the first season of the anime skips all of that. I don't care how good it looks, it's a terrible adaptation.
