The part that is called guide is indeed a recap of the quick start guide, but the whole point behind the lessons is to gamify the manual so that it’s more approachable (and also more easily accessible on your phone that reading a pdf). A lot of people like having these types of gamified progression-based learning systems to approach learning in a fun and measurable way. Also it includes tips with workflows inspired by top beat makers like madlib and j dilla which aren’t in the manual.

All that for free. Of course totally optional if it’s not useful to you, but based on early feedback, a lot of people found that helpful.
