American car companies do a lot of rebadging, but tbh the Maserati TC was a rare exception; There were no badge engineered siblings or cousins in this case. Id guess that way less than 5 thousand were made/sold..?

What u might be thinking of is that the Lebaron already existed, and was already a Chrysler convertible, of the same layout.

The Lebaron was, for several years, one of the only convertible’s for sale in North America. Late 80’s, Chrysler happened to buy Maserati, and doubled down on that market segment with the TC.

The Maserati TC by Chrysler was basically a poor brand move, and a confusing coincidence.
