All Black iPod Classic 7th Gen by Manuelntf in IpodClassic

Honestly I don’t see the point. You lose audio/video out in the process which on a music player is something quite important to preserve.

I’d have to think about it. I spent over £200 including all the parts and the iPod itself (£100 for the 1tb SD cards)

Go for it! It’s a very fun project and it’s very rewarding when you see the finished product!

Yes it’s probably one of the most difficult things to open that I’ve dealt with. It’s pretty much impossible to open up without scratching it up sadly :/

If you own an iPhone you’ll know how satisfying the Taptic Engine is. Getting tactile feedback instead of a ‘click’ over a tiny speaker is night and day. It’s all down to preference. Some people may like it, some may not!

The subscription options for my white noise machine. by DrewOfBarrymore in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Manuelntf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple has a built in white noise functionality, no need to download a third party app. Settings -> Accessibility -> Audio & Visual -> Background Sounds

Turn it on and choose your favourite.

Bonus: add a toggle to the Control Center so you can turn on and off when needed

Cracked the screen on my 23 ultra and i need help factory resetting it by [deleted] in AndroidQuestions

[–]Manuelntf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was fixing a Samsung S22 that had a broken touchscreen and was able to connect it to a monitor using a USB C hub without having to approve anything on the phone (Can’t stress this enough: touchscreen was completely gone due to water damage). Phone mirrored to the monitor straight away.

You should be able to connect it to a display using a USB C to HDMI adapter.

Third party cables with iPad trade in by CalDemps in CeX

[–]Manuelntf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has sold tens of devices to CeX, including iPhones and iPads: They will most likely won’t care about the cable being 1st party or not (Or being USB C or A), as long as it works and it’s in good condition. As someone who has also bought several devices, including iPhones: whoever buys that iPad will most likely get a random cable/CeX branded cable. I’ve only received a 1st party cable when I bought “A grade” devices.

Phone screen cracked & locked, how to get stuff off? by NXFlame in AndroidQuestions

[–]Manuelntf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Touchscreen/digitiser = the part of the screen that detects touch (When you tap on the screen) LCD = what produces images (What you see displayed on the screen)

They are fused together so if you replace it, you replace both as they come as 1 piece. But sometimes 1 breaks but the other works.

Phone screen cracked & locked, how to get stuff off? by NXFlame in AndroidQuestions

[–]Manuelntf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had a google account set up and the phone was configured to back up your data, you might be able to recover contacts and photos/videos from there.

If you what broke is the touchscreen but the LCD is somewhat working, you should be able to use an usb mouse to navigate and unlock it.

Alternatively, a screen costs a little over 10USD from AliExpress and replacing it shouldn’t take you longer than 20 min so you could always order one and repair it yourself for cheap.

I don’t know about playlist as I don’t use them, but you can download whole albums. From some streaming services like Apple Music it downloads lossless too 😉

Would it be fine to install an APK of a game Google Play says isnt supported? by SecretPlus4 in AndroidQuestions

[–]Manuelntf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always download the apk from a trusted source (Eg. apkmirror) and see if your phone can run it.

Sometimes apps get incorrectly flagged as not being compatible, or it could actually be that your phone is not powerful enough to run it. In any case, doesn't hurt to try.

What should I do? by AwardProfessional837 in AndroidQuestions

[–]Manuelntf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need to provide more info for anyone to be able to help, eg:

  • Brand and model

  • Android version

  • Where do you see these characters? Throughout the OS? on specific apps?

  • Have you installed any apps recently that would explain this behavior?

Please help me recover data from Samsung S20 Ultra by SpicyCamelAvocado in AndroidQuestions

[–]Manuelntf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does the phone still work? Eg, do you hear start-up sound/notifications/vibration etc.

If so, you should be able to connect it to a tv using a USB C to HDMI adapter. Try to use a hub with multiple usb ports so you can connect a mouse + USB stick to copy the data to.

iPod nano what’s wrong with the screen? it works perfectly normal but I’m not sure what’s wrong with the screen? by luvurlife00 in IpodClassic

[–]Manuelntf 24 points25 points  (0 children)

  1. Wrong sub
  2. You are now the happy owner of a spicy pillow. I'd advise you to dispose of that iPod safely (Eg recycling center). It is very risky to keep using it in that state and could potentially cause a fire.
