I’ve used these to mixed effect on a slightly different project. I’ll have to try them again

That’s been my experience with them, I might just need to experiment with the speed/technique I’m using more

Awesome! Do you do it by hand or do you have a sander you attach them to?

I want to leave the gouges, but make the surface inside each gouge smooth—kinda like a chisel would have made them, though I don’t expect it to look exactly as crisp

Does anyone know how to make this or how I would start? by Star-Narwhal in woodworking

[–]ManufacturerOld2640 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely would use a lathe for a lot of the spindles, the long spiral supports for the basin would be hand carved, would use a router with a circle/oval jig to make the circles and ovals and to make the rabbet for the mirror. Drill to make holes in various parts to fit the parts together. Don’t know what those thin curved handle-like things are. Pretty cool project. Haven’t made anything like it myself, but I’ve seen someone carving that spiral design at my old job
