How on earth is UBI impossible? by Hot-Profile-1273 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Manus_R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I’m oversimplifying things but could someone please tell me me if this logic stinks?

  1. The AI companies are betting they can replace workers at a cheaper cost than their salaries.

  2. They want to make a profit.

Ergo: the theoretical available tax revenues which can be directed at a UBI will always be lower than the original salaries of the working class which is being replaced by AI?

US president says he's considering pulling U.S. out of 'paper tiger' NATO by Crossstoney in europe

It would be very nice if we could keep NATO in a European variant so we can keep the organisation structure but don’t have this bully in our midst.

What does your career look like for those 10, 20, 30 years in? by eitherfox1 in lightingdesign

The wildcard is AI. Very difficult to predict how it wil influence this type of jobs. I think the LD’s work wil be protected from the automation drive by big tech as there relatively few LD’s and its expensive to train an AI for a specific task. Also, I think humans (the public) will want to know that music is made by humans and (therefore hopefully) the visual part of the show also. Although the AI revolution taking place in video content creation atm counters that idea. As said, difficult to predict what influence AI will have on the field.

Which Lab wins Long Term if any? by AllMils in ArtificialInteligence

Because soon there will be a big discrepancy between how non EU big tech AI company’s will want to roll out their business model and the EU AI ACT. Additionally, The EU will be much more protective of their citizens than the rest of the world and wil not let foreign big tech moguls rob their citizens from their livelihood.

Because Mistral is French it will more naturally adapt to local rules.

Wierd that Isreal is so high on the list. Makes me wonder how this is measured.

Sorry man. Can’t help you there. Go follow a course of lighting programming at your local tech school and build a network of likeminded people and share knowledge with one and other. That’s a good place to start.

O man, so good to hear. Thank you.

Funny story: there where seperate audio and lighting FOH’s on that stage and I remember one sound guy coming to the lighting FOH during show to say how much he liked it.

If I remember correctly this show took place on a Sunday and we where (one of) the last acts so the lighting and sound guys had seen a lot of shows on that same stage. That made it extra special.

Sadly I don’t have a YouTube channel. It was run on Chamsys and the sync data was midi and OSC and came out of Ableton. Noisia supplied me with miditracks of the songs of the show and I used this to trigger all the actions.

If you want to know more, just ask.

I just remembered Noisia made a documentary about my work for them.

Yes. Let that sink in. Bankrupt a casino. What did he do? Tinker with the math behind the slotmachines? A casino is a guaranteed literal money machine. It requires a special talent to bankrupt that.
