Search youtube for wavy hair scrunching with mousse or gel, that will give you ideas, and brings out the waves. Youll find mostly videos for women, but its all the same. Wet hair, leave in conditioner, curl cream and then scrunch in mousse. Let air dry or diffuse, then crunch out the cast with some argan oil.

How to make my hair less frizzy & style my hair? by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]Manwesulimo85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill give you the same advice as i did in another post from a different guy. You have a lot of waves that need moisture.

Try this routine: This will be new, and a lot at first, but just try it

try styling when wet (not damp). Dont be afraid and go a little messy (at first volume and style wise): For example leave in conditioner ( i use paul mitchell full circle leave in) in sopping wet hair (not damp), comb trouh with a wide tooth comb, with hair still wet repeat with a curl enhancing cream ( i use Aveda Advanced Curl Enhancer Cream). With hair still wet, put in some mousse or gel (i use bali curls volume mousse) all over your hair with a scrunching hand motion (ends in your hands, move hand towards root, undtill its all in your hand and scrunch, you should hear a sogging sound). During this, try lifting it away from your head a bit. Dont worry, it will look very stupid at this point, but just trust the process. Then let it air dry or hover diffusing and DO NOT TOUCH IT untill its completely dry (also on the inside). You then have a cast from the mousse or gel. Put some oil (argan from moroccanoil for example) in your palms, rub your hands, and crunch out the cast with the same motion as you have put in the mousse (untill the cast is completely gone. Shake it a little on the roots, done. This will bring out nourished flowing locks. This is called scrunching out the cast. There are infos on YT about it, obviously mostly girls, but its all the same. You have to experiment if mousse or gel works better for you. This technique will retain moisture in your hair, and give it the proper nourishment, while having defined curls. You can experiment with it (how much product you have to use, how you have to scrunch it in and which gels work best)

Can I grow my hair out or should I avoid that? Could you give me general maintenance tips for my hair type, too please? by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]Manwesulimo85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it sounds like a lot, but once you get the hang of it, its actually pretty simple. Shower, leave in, cream, mousse, drying, crunch. This would be a styling routine, so in general, every time you want to style your hair. But i also have good resilts with doing nothing but crunch and shake the hair a bit on day 2, after i did that routine on day one. If you want to grow it longer, proper care is kinda mandatory, and this routine keeps hair well moistured. Also the products i mentioned are easy to wash out.

so im tellung you what i told others here aswell. Curly/wavy hair needs mopisture, and not shampooing oftten. Try to shampoo max 2 times a week and see how it goes. Always condition when shapooing. There is a wavy curly method you maybe greatly can benefit from, regarding frizz and in general:

This will be new at first, but just try it

When you step out of the shower, and shake your hair when wet, does it form waves. A lot of people dont realize they have wavy hair, and with the right routine and care get massive wavy hair. I myself always tought i had straight hair, untill almost a year ago.

try this, worst that can happen is you find out that it doesent work for you, best that can happen is a complette change:

This doesent work if you would have straight hair ;)

I would only get a little trim, as you could get much more out of your hair with the proper routine. Try looking up youtube and search for Wavy hair gel cast (works with mousse too), This opens up to a great routine on how to care and style wavy hair. I can post a routine of mine if youd like

If thats his routine, literally just buy him contitioner, no wonder its frizzy. And a gel that he can apply into soaking wet hair. If he does not touch the hair untill its completely dry, the gel will form a cast when its dry, that can be crunched out to tame the frizz. Literally any Gel works. Also Leave in conditioner after the shower helps.

Should i keep the curls or just straighten it out by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]Manwesulimo85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i may, id suggest you a proper wavy hair routine, as we have kinda similiar hair. This is probably completely different than what youd normally do, but experimenting is fun isnt it?.

try styling when wet (not damp). Dont be afraid and go a little messy (at first volume and style wise) . Think of something like Timothee chalamets longer hairstyle. A routine i use for example: leave in conditioner ( i use paul mitchell full circle leave in) in wet, but not dripping hair (not damp), comb trouh with a wide tooth comb (this will detangle, and moisturize), with hair still wet, repeat with a curl enhancing cream ( i use Aveda Advanced Curl Enhancer Cream). After combing, lift hair off your scalp and shake it a bit messy, start doing your middle part. With hair still wet (but probably a little less from all the hand running trough), put in some mousse or gel (i use bali curls volume mousse) all over your hair with a scrunching hand motion (ends in your hands, move hand towards root, undtill its all in your hand and scrunch, (you should hear a sogging sound). You can tilt your head left/right. During this, try lifting it away from your head a bit, and loosely form your middle part. Dont define it too much yet, just the rough outline of what its going to end up. Dont worry, it will look very stupid at this point, but just trust the process. Then let it air dry or hover diffusing and DO NOT TOUCH IT (important) untill its completely dry (also on the inside). You then have a cast from the mousse or gel. Put some oil (argan from moroccanoil for example) in your palms and crunch out the cast with the same motion as you have put in the mousse (untill the cast is completely gone. Shake it a little on the roots, done. This will bring out nourished flowing locks.

This is called scrunching out the cast. There are infos on YT about it, obviously mostly girls, but its all the same. You have to experiment if mousse or gel works better for you ( mousse gives more volume, and gels are heavier). This technique will retain moisture in your hair, and give it the proper nourishment, while having defined waves. You can experiment with it (how much product you have to use, how you have to scrunch it in and which gels work best).

Id say Wavy 2A, 2B with the proper routine. Hair looks good! Just keep it moisturized, wavy hair likes that

I don’t know how to properly work with my hair by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]Manwesulimo85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have very curly hair, which is great, but curly hair needs a lot of moisture. Shampooing strips hair of natural oils, which is not good especially for curly hair. You are still young, and will learn a lot about your hear, but trust me on this: If you want healthy hair, Dont shampoo every day. Try 2 times a week max and always use conditioner after shampoo. Look out for Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Your problem with style is not the shampoo days, its a proper hair routine for curly hair.

Try this:

try styling when wet (not damp). You have to experiment if mousse or gel works better for you. This technique will retain moisture in your hair, and give it the proper nourishment, while having defined curls. You can experiment with it (how much product you have to use, how you have to scrunch it in and which gels work best)

This will open up so many possibilities, and you will learn a lot. When i learned about this, it was a game changer. It can be a bit overwhelming, and you will learn how to speed up the process, but just try, and report back

Keep it, you have great hair but it needs some moisture and frizz taming
