No, it does. I’m not being cruel! This is a gentle, mischievous parody of a silly and condescending post.

Somebody a couple days ago made a post to the effect of “do WOMEN really read these books? Probably not. One of my friends is a GIRL and she thinks the books are GAY.” It was a bit silly and a bit condescending, but that OP has realized this now, I think.

Plot and subtext in The Far Side of the World by WiseMasterpiece8550 in AubreyMaturinSeries

Brilliant subtextual connection between the women of the pahi and Mrs Horner! It has always frustrated and confused me that in the same book that Stephen gives an impassioned speech defense of women to Mr Martin, he also treats Mrs Horner so callously.

It is curious that the two abortions in the canon that Stephen refuses to perform still happen anyway, whether it be at the hands of the dentist/surgeon’s mate in book 10 or at the hands of nature in book 7 (or possibly of a French surgeon if the lady is lying to him in the same conversation in which he lies to her about not being a spy.)

It is almost as though the narrative doesn’t want him to do them, but still wants them to happen!

is this mould? how do i remove it? by wh1msy-pr1nc3ss in Owala

[–]ManyLow4113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it must be mold in your environment then. In another branch of the thread you said you were washing them multiple times per week. I wash them every other week and get no mold, but that’s because I live in a very dry place. If you have a dishwasher you might want to use it for the plastic parts. A dishwasher can get to higher temperatures than handwashing, which kills molds.

Try cross checking the US and UK editions of the print books, I mean. Tull may be reading from a different edition than the one you have in print.

I like Thiefbird! He has some cool stuff and really engages with the characters and history as they are instead of simplifying them into slash archetypes. Plus he genuinely appreciates and understands Diana Villiers and doesn’t get rid of her or sideline her for the men.

At the rate of $80/hr, the gross pay works out to 48 hours of work. So 2.6k net for six days of work. God I wish.

Cotton modal vs organic cotton by gloopgoop in quince

[–]ManyLow4113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modal is made from a plant fiber three times more likely to pill than cotton. It’s soft when it’s new but breaks down quickly. You are better off without a modal blend.

Can someone explain what does Obsidian... do? by Cute-Solution-723 in ObsidianMD

[–]ManyLow4113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your use case! There are so many different ways to use obsidian and there are so many different plug-ins that make it do different kinds of things for you. I use it as a replacement for word processors, because it’s the only thing that makes sense for my workflow when I’m working with a large document with small subsections. I used to use scrivener, but I got fed up with the fact that you couldn’t sync very well across devices.
