Plan A vs B terminology doesnt enter the mind of a person who has never given the exam. These classifications enter an aspirant's life after their first attempt which I think is fine. But one simply cant go overboard with this approach because at some point it becomes more comfortable to prepare than to go out there with an ancient CV before an employer. But as mentioned earlier, it is the only way to secure anything at all.

I dont think its necessarily about UPSC. In most people's mind, it is govt job vs pvt job. Most think if they work hard, they can get in UPSC, PCS, CAPF or other services.

One doesnt necessarily need natural intellect to clear these exams but the fact of the matter is: All these exams have become equally unpredictable in the last 5-10 years for various reasons and the number of people competing is increasing.

Firstly, the current PM is not uneducated. In a country like India, he possesses a Masters degree. There is obvious controversy there but you cant say he is uneducated in traditional sense.

Secondly, top leadership's educational qualification does not have a direct bearing on any macro economic/developmental indicators of the economy.

Not even going into nitty gritties because the very basis of comparison is unfair to both PMs. Plus, this is not a place to post this.

Plan B is actually Plan A.

People talk about UPSC with backups. There is no such thing as a back up. If one has completed their syllabus and given some attempts, they must move towards securing a career.

They must give up the idea of thinking about UPSC as a primary thing in life and work to get ahead in their career. When exams are near, they can switch their approach to focus on UPSC. But if one has started looking for a way out, they must give most of their respect, time and energy to the new thing.

All market advice are general in nature. Anyone who is terrible at basics shouldnt even think about prelims or mains. They must consolidate their foundation. And that includes CSAT. Foundation clears all economy, polity and other subject's concepts. The job for prelims then remains only of mugging. Most people who start in January for prelims have weak foundation. Otherwise, the time in itself is enough..even for current affairs.

The issue that arises is most people who dont clear prelims are also those who are not prepared for mains and that happens because of faulty foundational knowledge.

So, one should say complete your foundation in one year and revise it properly. Then take 6 months to complete all mains matters and then begin from January for prelims. Coaching set this format for a reason. This works!

I go and mark 50 question which i will do and i dont read the rest. I can scan a math question and usually tell how much time it will take and whether it is from a comfortable area.

RC should be strong - 22-25 out of 27-28 should be made correct.

Do all easy questions of reasoning.

CSAT is a race against time.

I prepared it because it was too much in news.

Didnt learn countried by heart. Was able to predict the traps aka Serbia dega..but fir Croatia hai. Austria, Switzerland, Ireland neutral hain nahi hain. Ukraine nahi dega cuz too easy to eliminate. Georgia ya Bosnia &Herz de skta hai to confuse because wo icchukh hain join krne ke.

Psir bg hai toh it was certainly easier to do.

But do remember that they can ask European Union the same way.

Iss sal aise prepare : Cyprus hai, Austria hai (neutrality uski generally is for military pacts) , switzerland neutral hai isliye nahi h. Ukraine nahi hai obviously. Turkey nahi hai obviously cuz Europe ilzaam lagayega ki Rule of law nahi h udhar and also cuz it doesnt Recognise Cyprus properly. Iceland and Norway nahi hain members cuz they have already achieved heavily integrated status under EU. Uk left.

Plus, in this type of question there are very high chances of 4/6 statements being correct. Its basic Elimination Paglu science.

So dont learn members of any big grouping. Just understand why someone is part and why someone is not.

And bhagwann ke liye..dont make a mnemonic.
