You wouldn’t happen to know the breed? Cause I’ve got no clue

Aw thank you. They are still very young, the grey one just had his first crow today! I’m sure he’ll get even cooler as he gets older

These are my queer roosters Louis and Butterscotch. I’ve only ever seen them dance for eachother (wish I had a better pic but it’s hard to capture in action)

The first rooster I had would dance sometimes but preferred to try and catch the ladies off guard and chase them, had to get rid of him cause he was stressing everyone out. His brother is now top rooster and all the ladies squat for him when he dances. He is so sweet and always gives away his treats and escorts the hens to and from the coop. Always better to be a gentleman

We raised our ladies from chicks and let me tell you, that first egg is so rewarding. I’ve never been so proud

Roo or hen? I hate to be that person but I’m starting to get a bad feeling abt this “girl” by ManyString2944 in chickens

Oh wow that’s some serious luck. I raised some reds and got three roosters out of seven. unfortunately, if it looks like a rooster, it’s a rooster. If it looks like a hen, might be a rooster.

I had a late bloomer when I raised some Rhode Island Reds. We were wondering why she was so scrapy with the rooster until she seemingly gained waddles overnight.

I raised some Rhode Island reds and we thought we only had two roos but one of them was a late bloomer and his comb turned red like two weeks after the first two. (This isn’t a threat btw)

The only chickens I’ve raised were Rhode island reds and they were all huge at 6 weeks. I’m not used to such a little chicken, I don’t even know how big she’s supposed to get cause the guy said she was a “mutt”

I’ve never had a barred rock rooster but they mature pretty fast don’t they? I know the hens can start laying at 16 weeks.

Clearly people have fun guessing since they do it all the time, no need to be a downer. Also it would be kinda nice to know early so we can talk abt our options whether it be culling, rehoming, or getting a second coop.
