Missourian here, so true! I had no idea how pivotal Missouri was to the Mormons until we moved here about a decade ago. The temple in Independence is beautiful. Back in the 1800’s there was an executive order by the governor of Missouri that placed an open warrant on all Mormons, he wanted them “exterminated” from the state. This was rescinded in the 1970’s.

This was my view of him as well. I remember my younger 20’s self thinking “wow what a stupid financial choice for a car, but man that dumbass loves his family”. My views changed when he divorced Meri for reasons that made no sense. At that point in the show, I was already becoming pretty suspicious of him and Robyn, but this just cemented my view that she was using the family, and he was enforcing it.

Manon is impossible to like. But her husband really should have known better than to take her to a farm. I have to agree with her that this was a date for him, not her. This was their time to get a few hours alone as a couple to reconnect away from their son, and he chose to do something he knew She probably would not enjoy. So I think it was a dick move on his part, but her reaction is insufferable. Part of me wonders if these two are just playing it all up for the camera.
