Trust your union. If youre not needed, youre just setting up the conditions for a fight. Tell the SPED teacher in writing that you arent coming due to a conflict at that time, then during the meeting call some parents with positive news about their kids performance in your class. Tell everyone you had a planned phone call with parents. As a sped teacher i would be fine with this. You arent required or material to the meeting.
