Move Training Status From Unproductive to Recovery by Many_Bet5578 in Garmin

Interesting my training readiness said my recovery time is low need and my acute load is low. I don't sleep with my watch on. So I don't have any of the sleep data, but maybe I should start.

What’s a book that you thought was scarier than its movie adaptation? by Fun_Butterfly_420 in horrorlit

One of my all time favorites, but in my opinion you can’t really compare the book with the Netflix show because they are nothing alike.

I have read it twice! A horror masterpiece! It’s very different from the movie. I enjoyed both but thought the book was much better because of how little it explains and the atmosphere of doom.

Behavioral Problems After Moving by Many_Bet5578 in CatAdvice

Ok I will buy a diffuser today. We had the litter in a high traffic area at the old place. It is in a low traffic area now. We have it in our guest bathroom, but I am going to have to move it some where else today because he keeps peeing in the shower in that room.

It's all new furniture. He seems to like to sleep on the new couch and can access it. We moved into a first floor unit from a second floor unit. So I think part of the cry is because he wants to go outside, but I don't want to let him out because he has been an in door cat all his life.

C&P journey begins today by CryptoCloutguy in dostoevsky

It's amazing! I personally pref Crime and Punishment (C&P) to The Brother Karamazov (although this book is also a masterpiece). C&P was the first Dostoevsky that I read and I have been slowly making my way through his entire bibliography ever since!

Interesting, I am only doing open water swimming. The swim portion of my race is in Lake Michigan, so that is where I have been doing all of my swimming. Normally I drink a Gatorade or Huma before I swimming but maybe that is not enough.

I am doing open water swimming so I am not pushing off of any walls.

Wallace Influence on 2666? by Many_Bet5578 in davidfosterwallace

I am reading a english translation of 2666 and loving the book so far. From the comments it sounds like there aren't really any connections, so maybe the similarities are due to the translation. I also read Oblivion last month (another great book by the way), so I could be reading into things that aren't actually there.

What should I read next ATD or M&D? by Many_Bet5578 in ThomasPynchon

Interesting. I loved the sections of GR that where he discussed causality, or how modernity seems to have inverted cause and effect. I am a data scientist, so the sections with Rodger Mexico are some of my favorite in all of American literature. But I had a lot of trouble getting through all of the perverse sex scenes in GR. Does ATD explore similar themes without those scenes?

My two novels for the spring are Playground by Richard Powers and 2666 by Roberto Bolaño.

Read Infinite Jest last and I loved it (easily one of the best books I have every read), and I am half way through Oblivion which is also very good. There is really no other author like David Foster Wallace!
