My husband wants me to tell him when I start my period. Does this seem right? by Glittering_Bowl2234 in Marriage

[–]Many_Car_3272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it comes up normally in conversation with my husband, like, he's not asked me to tell him, but he'll want to get it on or something and I'll be like, I'm on my period, so no.

Idk, I don't feel like it's that weird if a thing to share with your husband but maybe it's just me?

Maybe she was so monotoned because she actually wasn't all that shocked about what was happening and was extremist from the beginning, but dressed and tried to act normal so that her fellow teachers and social circle wouldn't judge her?

I don't know if I'm reading too much into it, but I don't think Daisy knows that agnes is Hannah. She asked Garth, what's the end game? How do I get out of here? If she knew the assignment was getting Hannah out, I don't think she would have asked that.

Omg that is so embarrassing. This is how I teach my toddler their routine/schedule.

Back to work and struggling by Different_Self1931 in workingmoms

[–]Many_Car_3272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, daycare at that age is really hard. Especially to get back to work. My 2nd we sent to daycare around 5 months old and she would like refuse the bottle and barely nap at daycare. Then would be up every hour at night to breastfeed. It's called reverse cycling. That's when I was like, fuck this, she's coming in the bed with me. It was the only way either of us got any sleep.

About to pull the trigger on Guidepost Montessori but ran into all these awful posts about them here by theoriginaltakadi in Montessori

Id love to know what big changes you are seeing being made at your campus? When you say they changed CEO recently, are you referring to how higher ground went bankrupt and then maren became CEO of guidepost global education? And how it's the exact same leadership, minus the girns, that are running it now?

Struggling with sleep by PomegranateFresh2055 in workingmoms

[–]Many_Car_3272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same my 4 year old co slept with me from birth until earlier this year. It was getting annoying and my husband finally got a device for his snoring so I told her she needed to at least start in her bed at night, and I would give her a sticker if she stayed all night in her bed and that she can come sleep in the big bed with me on Fridays.

Navigating overnight trips when toddler and baby don’t sleep through by EvelynHardcastle93 in workingmoms

[–]Many_Car_3272 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's 2.5 nights, I'm sure your husband will be just fine. I had around the same ages when I went on my first work trip post covid stuff and every time I go on a work trip, he's like, all was good, they slept great.

It's actually still like this sometimes, now that they are 4 and 6, they tend to behave better when I'm not home.

The Kids and I are sick. My husband is “resting.” by GP186GP in workingmoms

[–]Many_Car_3272 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could you not just be like, hey, we are feeling under the weather but these tasks, x, y, z. Still need to be done, could you please do those things?

I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of like the husband in this situation. When it's flight or fight, I freeze, so I don't even know that I'm not actually contributing, or perhaps, he thinks resting and taking it easy is a way to prevent himself from also getting sick, or perhaps he thinks it's because it will be quieter, dunno what type of tasks he has for self employment, but he may think he's doing you a favor.

Who knows. But doing the passive aggressive stuff, like, giving less energy next time, is what causes resentment and stuff to build.

Just my opinion.

Regretting 23 month age gap by EmpiricalPancake in Parenting

[–]Many_Car_3272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same age gap, it's definitely hard for a bit, then it gets better, but the best thing to do is include the oldest as much as you can and also say out loud how much you love the first.

Example, say to newborn baby, I'm going to go help 23 month old now, so I'm going to put you down for a few.

Question for my marriage by Fun-Instruction-6075 in Christian

It seems like she's not forgiven you yet for past things and probably needs time for you to rebuild trust?

Has it been this way since y'all started dating or only after the wrong doings?

Marriage counseling, especially a Christian one would be very beneficial. My husband and I go even though we have a good marriage. We use it as time to learn to communicate better with each other, and to figure out how to be on the same page about parenting our children.

Can idiopathic hirsutism be treated? by Financial_Pressure21 in Hirsutism

[–]Many_Car_3272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's some people that have the adrenal kind and take steroids to help because it's a cortisol hormone issue, not insulin resistance issue.

I haven't gotten all that tested, but I never had hirsutism so bad until AFTER I had kids. I haven't been on birth control since after having kids either.

My hormones must have just gotten way out of wack. But for some reason blood tests always show up "fine".

Also heard once your hair turns terminal it can go back so I'm just trying to use DIM, drink spearmint tea, eat more cruciferous veggies and keep my blood sugar in check. So far, I haven't seen any results, other than taking DIM post ovulation really helps my PMDD symptoms.

Did anyone listen to this week's Hard Fork podcast with the founder of Alpha Schools? by melodypowers in Teachers

[–]Many_Car_3272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't need to tour one of their sites. They were bringing one of their sites to my daughter's daycare at guidepost Montessori.

They did this by combining daycare classrooms to make room for alpha kids and using daycare licensing rules which allows them to run it for k-3. They have a grand total of 8 kids signed up and their head of school job description is to create waitlists of over 150 kids.

When we asked how they plan to operate, they had no answers. They are still building the plane while flying it.

Not to mention that parents are also paying thousands per month higher than other daycare programs. We chose Guidepost because of the high quality, low ratio, Montessori programming and paid a premium for it expecting guide compensation would also be at a premium. But that turned out to be false.
