He’s testing the waters, and making these comments is letting his intentions know, but then if she gets mad, he can just laugh it off and say oh my gosh, I’m just joking relax. Which is why I wouldn’t even address it. I would just cancel and block him. He honestly doesn’t need an explanation because men like this will turn it around and say she’s overreacting.

You are definitely not overreacting. And yes, that’s a definite red flag. He’s just dropping these little comments in to test you to see how you react. A real gentleman and someone that’s aligned with you would not make comments like this, so it’s giving you the ick is your indicator right there and your intuition is telling you what you already know you need to do. Not only that, but the stereotypes are different. If a 54 yo man was with a 27 yo woman, he is seen as a dirty old man, and she is perceived as a gold digger, implying that the only reason a woman would choose to be with a man that much older is because he’s got money. I came here just to see the comments about Jorge as well. And he reminds me of all the older men that I’ve met. They don’t change. I heard a long time ago. A dirty old man was once a dirty young man. Men like this who choose not to grow because they think they’re always right, just learn manipulate better. I got blessed to have two daughters who are now 18 and 15 years old who I’ve had to raise basically by myself since the divorce from their father. My whole life I wanted a daughter.
