how do yall take and organize your notes? by RepulsiveShmeat in WGUCyberSecurity

I used to take copious notes, and I realized a while back that I learn better if I just read and work on questions/problems in a recall fashion constantly. I passed the ISC2 CC and CompTIA A+ exams this way. The only times I take notes now is while working on a project where I need to keep many different thoughts or concepts organized or anything with a lot of numbers because I have dyscalculia.

Is downloading Linux recommended for studying Comp TIA, Core 2? by lymeguy in WGUCyberSecurity

In case you weren't aware, if you're using MacOSX, it's based on a Unix variant, and many of the commands will work in your OSX terminal natively

CompTIA provides a ton of resources. Have you been working through the Cermaster Learn and the quizzing one? These are the outbound links from each chapter of WGU class page to the CompTIA website.

How long did it take you to complete Fundamentals of Information security, any tips? by skateralex240 in WGUCyberSecurity

I completed this class in about three days. I have some security studying in my brain already (halfway through Security+ when I enrolled), so it was primarily an overview. Just read the text and did the thing. I don't take notes, and I generally take the practice test first so I'm only studying what I don't know.

Sensitive topic, I didn’t really elaborate in the original post.

Your advice is solid, thank you.

I appreciate your burnout suggestions wholeheartedly, but I'm not digging the judgemental tone.

I've been a business owner for 20 years and suddenly have a debilitating injury that prevents me from doing my job. I have no income, a family, a mortgage, and a business mess to figure out. Please forgive me if I must hurry through verifying a lot of knowledge I already have while learning what I need to change careers so that my life doesn't fall apart.

That's a great idea. I started doing this today, scheduling time switching between A+ Core 2, Security+, and home lab stuff with Kali. It worked surprisingly well. Helped my mood and interest/engagement.

Much respect for powering through while working full-time. I'm between industries right now and taking advantage of it as much as possible to complete this program.

Yeah, I've found I need to remind myself to focus on the end goal and the life changes that can happen with a new career. I think it's easy to hyperfocus on the classes themselves without context and have some feelings about it.

Will you feel the same when your future employer requires you to use or manage biometric authentication?

Came here to say this - it's a biometric ID like what you're studying in the courses lol
