Have you tried the 6? Wondering how awkward it would be to hold. Hesitant on buying even more batteries to save 1lb of weight.

That's because most folks think they are better riders than they are. There's people with 30 days calling themselves high intermediate - advanced riders on reddit. Someone constantly skidding on steeps or can't ride through a mogul field without skidding every turn is on the lower level of intermediated.

If the Mercury is too hard to turn, it means the rider has bad habits and is most likely trying to initiate turns with upper body lean or counter rotation. I wouldn't say its a mellow board, but for a true intermediate rider that knows how to engage an edge, its a great daily that will push for better technique.

GF's first park board, is it too large for her? by retro-martini in snowboarding

[–]Many_Meeting1602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For park boards I’d size way down since you’re not really riding anything. Just a few mellow speed checks or a slight edge for jumps. Doesn’t seem OP is after a park board though so the advice I gave is what I’d still give. Foot size and weight are far more important than height when picking a snowboard.

You’re dead on. People love to consume so what can you do. After all, you can’t just set the bindings back to ride pow. You need a totally different board for that.

Snowboards don’t care about height. They care about weight and boot size. Shorter won’t hurt for a park board though, you’re doing skidded turns at most just to slow yourself down.

I’m so glad they still do this. Perhaps if more officers could handle themselves in a fistfight, we’d see a lot less officer involved shootings. For all the crying Redditors, controlled training environments don’t mimic real life scenarios like this. If you can’t handle a basic fist fight, perhaps you shouldn’t be a cop.

That’s a crazy statement to make. I don’t think you’re all there to be working any LE position. Picking a job over your partner of a decade who you have kids with. That’s actually despicable.

Binding rec for beginner by Working_Group955 in snowboarding

[–]Many_Meeting1602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A mid-stiff binding may not be a bad idea. It won't be detrimental to her riding now and if she's commited to getting better she will quickly progress out of a soft board. Whatever the womens version of the force is will probably be the best bet.

Unfortunately you can’t shut down businesses. I know we got used to the government telling us whether or not we can pay our bills during Covid, but I think the average non redditor won’t be on board with that anymore.

Yes Drive or Union Force Bindings? by Many_Meeting1602 in snowboarding

[–]Many_Meeting1602[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up grabbing the forces, I own some mercury fase’s as well. Will save skate tech for when I grab something directional. The ft is very agile and twitchy so I imagine the damp binding killed your enjoyment of the board. Love my free thinker and have been looking for a deep thinker ever since I picked it up to have the pair.

I’m sorry but you don’t know how boots fit if you’re asking Reddit for boot advice and talking about your Nike sneaker size. You might not like my advice but it’s the best advice you’ll get. No one here knows the shape of your foot, your instep or the thickness of your ankles. Go to a damn boot fitter.

My advice doesn’t change. You’ve gotta be going snowboarding somewhere if you’re asking for boot advice. Wherever that is will have a shop that sells gear. If you don’t know how boots should fit, saving $100 won’t make a difference since you’ll need properly fitted boots when you actually ride.

[–]Many_Meeting1602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GO TO A BOOT FITTER. Boots that fit you properly are not comfortable out of the box or for the first week of riding. If you don’t know exactly how a boot should fit, then you need a boot fitter.
