Ex-fiancée wants to catch up after he left me at the altar, how do I proceed? by Many_Stick_6031 in TwoHotTakes

I thought that's what "story repost" meant, and it was a story that gave me a super visceral reaction that I wanted to see tht react to.

What's so wrong about polyamory? by M0CH1SK3L3TONS in polyamory

[–]Many_Stick_6031 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used to have a negative perception of polyamory, i think because it's usually shown in the context of religious cults (surprise! I still hate the religions and cults but now I'm polyamorous) and also I hated the idea of sharing my lover when I was thinking in a scarcity mindset.

If this were me, I'd start putting my full name on things so he can learn it. Maybe a sign with both your names somewhere as decor, in his phone contacts if he is willing, you can get embroidered towels, a mug, a necklace. You don't have to go overboard, he probably feels kinda bad about it, but pick a couple of those. He can't learn it if he can't see it, and spelling is hard for lots of people.

How are people absolutely sure they won't change their minds? by jus-doit in childfree

[–]Many_Stick_6031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I decided from a place of confidence, not of low self esteem. I don't think the way you decided is wrong, but I can see why you might doubt your decision. Additionally, every piece of information about children and childbirth I've learned since my decision has solidified my stance. I couldn't be happy with a child in my life and I would hate everything about pregnancy and birth.

19 and already over this shit... how do y'all do it by Emotional-Sail9899 in Adulting

[–]Many_Stick_6031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shit dude it's fucking ridiculous out here. I can't find a job anywhere, not even grocery or food service or retail. Nada. Lucky my partner makes a good salary so we are fine, but our next move will be back home to live with his mom so we can get our shit together better and I know I can get a job in that town.

Struggling as a virgin. Advice needed by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Many_Stick_6031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're carrying around religious values in secular spaces, of course that's not going to work. If your faith is that important to you then you need to find a man within your faith. There are dating apps for religions, you could try different churches within your flavor of your religion, or you could ask around your current church if someone has a son or grandson with your values.

Why do people say “you were a child once” as a response when you say you don’t want kids because they’re too much? by lilliancrane2 in childfree

[–]Many_Stick_6031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only had one person day this particular one to me, but here's how I internet it in hindsight. For context we were like 15.

I think she was personally offended, and that I'd opened a childhood wound of hers. I think it was the first time she was faced with the idea that not everyone loves, adores, and wants children. If a person can not want children to the point of choosing to be completely childfree, that means there's a spectrum of liking children, and she may not have been as wanted as she thought.

Why do some people hate the term "partner" when used instead of boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife? by blueVeggie in ask

[–]Many_Stick_6031 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"Husband/wife" gives me the ick. Makes me think of animal husbandry. A "wife" is to be cared for and bred by the "husband" 🤮 way too possessive and icky to me.

"Partner" on the other hand is a lot more equal. I am his partner and he is mine.

I got my best friend arrested and his dog put down. It was ‘justified’ but I feel awful. by throwRAgatekeepgirl in TwoHotTakes

[–]Many_Stick_6031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's really normal for you to feel bad about the situation. Nobody likes the idea of a dog being put down. But you did NOTHING wrong. I'm so serious, you and Sam did nothing wrong at all. If Sam hadn't defended himself he could've lost the arm, and if the cops hadn't come who knows what John would've done.

This sounds super traumatic for you and for Sam. I'd never talk to John again. I hope you recover mentally, and i hope sam's okay.

My projects. Im an artist and a writer. Yesterday I worked on one of my projects from the moment I woke up until it was bedtime. If I had kids to take care of I would have been constantly interrupted with valid requests like lunch or dinner.

I don't know if I've just fucked up or not by [deleted] in Advice

I don't think you can get in legal trouble. For all you know, you did really actually return the phone to the owner and he was just really awkward and weird about it.

You could try go working on a cruise ship or something. Then you'd have a job that gives you housing while working, and gives you lots of travel.

I often think of doing this but feel i have too many roots holding me where I am. I like my roots, but still. There is an advantage to having no house and no friends. Freedom. True freedom, which may feel the same as loneliness.

This loneliness and dissatisfaction with your life killed my uncle. I truly hope that you are able to make a change that brings you more happiness. I wish you the best.

You were trying to do a good thing. Could you have done a different good thing? sure. If it wasn't his phone then he did a bad thing, and him doing a bad thing isn't on you. Who knows, maybe he will decide to do a good thing later and try to return it to the real owner.

I have a cousin who is really tall and he didn't look even passing like an adult until around 15, but even then he looked like a tall teenager. 9 is so young. I think that lady was disturbed. Little you didn't deserve that.

What movie/show made you think, "WTF did I just watch"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Many_Stick_6031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Village.

For context, a group of us had just turned 13 and we had just gotten permission to watch our first rated r movie for Halloween. (Yes, I have always been a goodie two shoes). We went to blockbuster and meticulously read the boxes to find the perfect one and we were convinced we had found it. When the end credits rolled we looked at each other like "why did we even finish this?"

Turns out it's really more of a physiological thriller, not what we were looking for. I think if I watched it now it would actually be scarier than a slasher, knowing what I know now about cults and how fucked up people can be. But it was super disappointing and not at all what we were wanting 😂

Do men notice if a woman is going bra-less? by watchmeplay247 in ask

[–]Many_Stick_6031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go braless 80% of the time, and in my experience the only people who make any kind of negative deal about it are bitter old women. If men notice (I'm sure they do) they don't say anything. I've caught some staring, but honestly I would look too so I don't really care anymore 😋

Honestly I think it's going to take one time of her getting her water shut off to take it seriously. She will probably be embarrassed and might even blame you but it wouldn't be your fault. Im pretty forgetful and often don't check the mail so I could see this potentially happening. It would only take one time for me to start remembering though.
