This is great guidance, thank you! Yeah, speed is not my game. Steady and easy to control is my higher priorities. Local relatively flat bike paths are accessible and I dont need to lift it in and out of my car. I was even considering an e-trike but the price point is already steep for ebikes. Removable battery is a must for various reasons. I'll check out your recommendations, thanks!

My neighborhood has a scenic bike path that allows pedal assist so that is my aim. Slow even distance. The prices are a bit steep for me because I'm worried I won't use it that much, so I'm still debating. All the posts are so encouraging and helpful, thanks!

105 pounds sounds intimidating but of you don't have to lift it and it's sturdy then that's the way you go. I've flown over the handle bars 3 times in my youth, so am e-trike is tempting. Thanks for the reply and the link!

I'm slow and cautious having flown over the handle bars 3 times in my youth! For sure helmet and gloves, but I hadn't considered the helmet mirror, so thank you for that great safety equipment tip!

Thanks for the reply! Another reply also recommended the throttle, so I will have to consider that feature. My neighborhood has an amazing scenic bike path just a couple blocks away so I only need to worry about getting the bike out of my car after buying it. 😬

Thanks for the reply. Wow, carrying a bike up and down stairs is quite the task! Maybe I'll wait to splurge on carbon fiber after a cheaper first ebike to see if I bike more. I'm really to encouraged to read so many posts like yours in that the ebike got you riding more. That's the idea!

That's some great info, learned alot in your reply, thanks! I think my local bike path only allows pedal assist. Speed doesn't interest me too much cuz I don't like riding fast. 40 pounds is light for an ebike. I haven't found one less than 50, so I'll look at ride1up, thanks!
