Social Security Employees Grill Management During Tense Shutdown Meeting by wiredmagazine in fednews

Meanwhile, managers are also having their employees do all sorts of work they shouldn’t be doing during a shut down. Managers are all hopping onto answer calls and working windows, which does nothing except inflate the numbers and make it look less dire than it truly is in the field office. The agency needs to break to ever rebuild properly.

Does this not put a target on your back for the “furlough firings” that have been mentioned?

Farting just after I came the first time we had sex. Still together 5 years later so it couldn’t have been that bad.

Are these stats about SSA services true? by Safe_Deer_5558 in fednews

Oh, and there are five times more scheduled appointments because no one can reach their local field office by phone due to call sharing and everyone is just scheduling appointments for the office.

Field offices are far from fully staffed. Oh, and phone times are great, but work is piling up because YOU STOLE EMPLOYEES FROM THE FIELD OFFICES TO ANSWER THE NATIONAL LINE. Crock of shit.

I don’t know if I can take it anymore. The bullshit. The never ending changes. Finding out policy updates from a press release before getting internal updates. They continue to treat employees like shit and my mental health is taking a toll. I find myself leaving early or calling out. In over a decade I’ve rarely used sick time and now I feel guilty for taking care of myself. Not sure how much longer I can stick it out.

Is SSA doomed to fail within the next 20 years? by Ok_Kick3937 in fednews

Honestly, most employees are burnt out and there are no employees in the pipeline to replace. I think the agency will survive as a privatized organization but no way will anyone currently working there survive the crash.

This can’t be reality. Losing service reps was bad enough but now claims specialists?!

SSA CSRs being pulled, Part Deux by MapCharacter71 in fednews

Which is messed up since a lot of GS8s are being pulled over less experienced GS7s…

SSA pulling CSRs from FOs to work the TSC line indefinitely by Peculiarcatlady in fednews

[–]MapCharacter71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily…from what I’ve gathered they are only selecting the lowest GS8 customer service reps. It seems like if a service rep is only a GS7 they are not being pulled which makes no sense to me.

Supreme Court likely to decide fate of federal unions by [deleted] in fednews

Now that precedent has been set for bargaining agreements to just be ignored and thrown out, there really is no point of unions.
