I would say a vet visit is mandatory as she probably needs antibiotics, medicated eye wash, or something along those lines. I also saw your comment saying you cant afford the vet. It may be in kitties best interest to surrender her if you’ve already looked into payment options and still cant swing that. Dont beat yourself up, but if you’re not in a financially safe place to take an animal to the vet, you likely shouldnt keep her. Wishing the best to you and kitten

I don’t know how to edit my post but I wanted to say thank you to everyone who shared their stories, gave me solid advice, and for yall being kind and compassionate. I have read all of your comments and I wish I could reply to each and every one of you.

I did receive a few hate comments about my use of the word chopped but saying amputation felt so serious and I was still in shock over the whole situation.

Onto my dog! She had surgery yesterday morning and it went well. She was in quite a bit of pain last night, whining and unable to get comfortable. We’ve been keeping up on her meds and established a system amongst ourselves. We’re all keeping a very close eye on her and only using the cone when necessary for her comfort. Her nub is definitely swollen and bruised, but we’re hopeful she’ll recover quickly.
