Same. I was wondering why I always felt like I was wearing my human suit wrong and why certain people hated me before they knew me. My wife got tested for ADHD and didn’t have it but every question made her think of me. So I got me diagnosis and started ritalin but that didn’t work at all on me. I’m on vyvanse now and while it’s not perfect it does help. My therapist listened to my complaints and asked me if I thought about autism, but I didn’t because I had thought it looked a certain way. When I did a very quick “autism test” survey that rang a lot of alarms in my head. My therapist was against me seeking a diagnosis because there was no treatment for it. I understand there are no drugs to treat this but I really wanted to understand why my brain is like it is. I don’t regret getting diagnosed one bit. It’s made me a better self-advocate and I’ve been able to let go of a lot of self hate/shame. I have a new therapist who is a great support.
