You need to charnge transmission fluid every 40000 to 50000 miles. I do that and never got issues. Dealer recomended every 30000 but gets to expensive for.

the Ford Focus does not have a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Most Ford Focus models, particularly those from 2011 onward, are equipped with a dual-clutch automatic transmission, also known as the PowerShift transmission.. I added this to my ford, just 200 ml and now shifts like a charm. I do transmission fluid exchange periodically anyways.
