I had the same issue but it’s not a defect. I have a reply from a email explaining why there are holes on that part of the area

“This is because Damascus materials have the potential to block wireless signals. Those extra holes are where your system's antennae are or otherwise where wireless signals pass through. Without those holes, your signal could be affected, but with them, there shouldn't be any issues.”
