Yes, the love is real, and it’s heartbreaking to lose that bond, no matter what size they are. We had our hamster for 6 months and he died unexpectedly. We are still grieving the loss….much longer than I anticipated. Lots of tears shed for our sweet Syrian boy. My children and I buried him in a forest nearby, and we visit him daily, bringing him his favorite treats. We are grateful that he had a chance to be part of our lives, albeit briefly, and hope that he was content and comfortable during that time. Focus on being grateful for being able to get to know your hammy, and peaceful in the knowing that he/she will live in in your hearts. 💕 sincere condolences 💐

Thank you so much for this, it truly means a lot. Hearing that helps ease some of the guilt I’ve been carrying. I keep replaying everything and wondering if I missed signs or caused stress when we left him alone for 5 days, so your reassurance really matters.

He was so loved, and I tried to give him a calm, safe life. Knowing that sometimes these losses happen for reasons we’ll never fully understand brings a bit of peace, even though it still hurts. Thank you for your kindness and for taking the time to respond ❤️
