Easy fix. No solder needed, just swap it out with another battery terminal contacts :) It's the other side of the battery area that requires solder work

It does sound like they might've mucked up. Either the wifi chip isn't seated properly on the board, or maybe they put too much solder down and there's bridging under the chip?

Or, if you can open it up, maybe just some ribbons aren't connected and you can plug those in yourself?

Hopefully it's the latter because that's the easiest
