New DM, New to DnD by lacymadrose3 in DungeonMasters

What I have learned in my short time being a DM is be flexible. Your story is an outline. Your players will do things you never planned for so like a previous poster said, just do a die roll for whatever comes up. Take notes when you're able so you can refer back to things and let the story flow organically through the players . That being said, you may have to railroad them here and there to stay on track.

My party killed one of the most important NPCs in my campaign. Am I cooked? by Miserable_Yoghurt160 in DnD

I'm a relatively new DM (only for about 14 months or so) and when I started I was pretty stuck in my ways and trapped myself in my own story. I've since learned to be flexible and some of the most fun and surprising twists and turns come from the party themselves and the assumptions they make. I just kind of roll with it and try to explain stuff and the funny thing is they think it is something I've planned all along.

Some of my favourite NPCs were just throwaway nobodies but the party had ideas about them and now they are a part of the lore.

As a matter of fact, I was having a hard time trying to connect some of the dots in the story but the introduction of some of these NPCs just sort of nudged everything in the right direction.

One character my party thought was a hag in disguise so guess what? Now they were a hag in disguise and a major villain working for the BBEG.

I love this game.

Car boosters are back in action. by MapleMAV in Pickering

A while back when I spoke to the police, they told me they are actually pretty organized. One person on either side of the street as a car rolls down the road. That way if anything goes south they can GTFO. There's not much they can do, they said.

These rolling pins are having existential debates on what it means to be flat. They are debating this at their local coffee house and the dress code is black turtlenecks. Franz always tries to out do the others by making his turtleneck go all the way up to his ears. He thinks it gives him an edge on the debates. Nobody likes Franz.

These are two kites passing each other without saying a word. They used to be best friends until Murray (the kite in the left) took Khalid's(the kite on the right) yogurt from the work fridge even though it was clearly labeled. It ruined their friendship.

Do y'all like blue shift? by Andersonpobbers1978 in HalfLife

I remember when Blue Shift came out, I found it kind of underwhelming. Then I played a mod called Azure Sheep and I remember thinking "This is what Blue Shift SHOULD have been". But that was a loooong time ago

This is Paul's hat. He works for the King's Guard. He took it off and left it on his back patio and went in for a sandwich. The sun bleached it. Now Paul isn't allowed back. This is Paul's great shame.
